Turn it around, add a couple of exclamation points and Mahwah sounds more exciting...

Ha!Wham!

Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

My resistance to Mahwah might get misinterpreted by some as a dislike for the city. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm just looking to go somewhere fun, exciting, special for the NFBC drafts. For whatever reason, Mahwah just doesn't give me that feel.

Let's compare some descriptions used to describe the other destinations that the NFBC has visited in the past to the great metropolis of Mahwah.

Vegas (Sin City, Glitter Gulch, The Entertainment Capital of the World)

New York (The Big Apple, The City that Never Sleeps, The Capital of the World)

Chicago (Second City, Windy City, Chi-Town, The City of the Big Shoulders)

St. Louis (Mound City, The Gateway to the West)

Atlantic City (Always Turned On, Vegas East, America's Playground)

Now Mahwah....(Isolated, Within 10 Miles of a Mall & Some Restaurants, Bring a Car, Jupinka Lives Here, and my personal fave....Bleech)

At best online, Glenn, you'll draft.

Analyze your draft.

Then...analyze your draft.

In Mahwah, you'll draft.

Then join in with 45 others of your kind in analyzing all drafts, along with being with guys that think like you.

People are the party, Glenn, not the place.

Just my perspective.

Just my perspective. I'm mostly just busting balls here Doughy. I do know that I forgot my sarcastic graemlin. ;)

Still, given the choice I liked AC vs the idea of a more suburban atmosphere. I live in the suburbs. I can do the mall, drive 10 miles to a restaurant thing any day. ;)

They have Doritos in Mahwah, right?

First criteria for any location.

Look at these palatial grounds, Lowy. And did you know that Mahwah, NJ was the home of American League Rookie of The Year 1965, Curt Blefary?! And that the name Mahwah is derived from the Lenni Lenape word "mawewi" which means "Meeting Place" or "Place Where Paths Meet"?! C'mon, what else can you ask for? So quit your cryin', and realize that it's the company that will make this thing fun, not the friggin' location. I will make sure that you are sufficiently entertained while you are there. :D

We have contacted both locations in the past along with other casinos like these. Most of these places have very strict guidelines for the type of casino games they are allowed to run and even though we are just running an event we've been told that this is too close to gambling and they don't want to risk their license over this. It's also happened with location requests in Minnesota, Illinois and Indiana. We looked at this on the East Coast when we were with NBC Sports. I don't blame these locations and thankfully Las Vegas casinos don't have the same concern.

Interesting, maybe something too close to sportsbook/sports and that's why Vegas is different? Anyhow thx Greg!

If entertainment is in demand you could explore Philadelphia. They have the Sugarhouse Casino. Great bars and restaurants and for those who haven't been to Philly before there is plenty of historical/ touristy stuff to do if you want.

I probably wouldn't suggest drafting at Sugarhouse (I don't even know if it's an option). There are plenty of hotels that you could get a conference room in. Rooms should be reasonable. The casino offers a free shuttle that stops at a few locations in the city.

Just tossing the idea out there.
