Lets have fun drafting even though my squad is going to slam the competition like a screen door in a hurricane.

Who's all going to be in the Windy City w/ me?

I'll actually be in Vegas on Fri. Night for the NL Auction and then back in Chicago for the Saturday NFBC draft. You will know me by the Large red W (for Whacko) painted on my forhead.

John Dietz of the Chicago Daily Herald said a feature story on the National Fantasy Baseball Championship will run in tomorrow's sports section, next to the baseball items. With a circulation of 150,000, I hope that we'll spark some new interest in the Windy City. Someone let me know how that article looks and if they think it will lead to some late signups. John is a good guy and he's even interested in playing if he doesn't have to work that day. Bring 'em on, right guys???

Greg -

Seeing that I installed the Register Guidance System on all of their presses (keeps the colors together to make the picture purtey), I know it will bring the playas in from far and near!

Greg, had you gotten me on your crack staff, this event would have filled up faster than a Brittnay Spears concert at a prison. :D

I'm your boy! Thanks Marc Moeller at STATS inc to for egging me into this!

Are we on? :D We're on Bra Man - you bring the malt liquor and I'll bring the moonshine.

Unfortunately the mullet met an untimely demise last week. The chick at Great Clips was rambling on about how great I would look with a Ryan Seacrest do...next thing I know the mullet is swimming backstrokes on the tile floor trying to escape Flo's broom.

How did you know I had an 87 Fiero?

P-2-W,

I knew you had the ride of Kings the second I started reading your posts. Only the best will do for a man of your knowledge/stature. I aspire to own one myself. Right now the Camero will have to do. I cant wait until I can take my t-tops off and turn up the Alpine stereo.

Sorry to hear the Kentucky Neckwarmer met an untimley demise. Try growing it back to A.C. Slater status would you please?

Walter, if you get 15 guys for Chicago in the next three days, you will be hired as my marketing director. Go get 'em for the NFBC family.

I can't stomache the talk of not using Chicago as a draft site like some people are stating. Admittingly, Chicago is lacking in the number of entrants from the other two sites, but there is a lot more reason to go to Vegas in March than Chicago. However, for midwesterners like myself(Indiana), it is the ideal location and I am certain that year after year the Chicago draft will grow and probably surpass or at least equal the other sites. So please drop the "don't go back to Chicago" bantor and realize that a lot of midwesterners will be loyal attendees in the future. Viva Chicago!!

I also think that Chicago has an excellent shot at producing the Overall champion. I think with all the "experts" in vegas that those drafts will be extremely competitive and possibly a little more dead money will be in Chicago. If you figure 3 leagues in Chicago for 45 entrants, with 10-15 "dead money", that leaves me and 29 others an excellent shot at the 100,000.  ;) ;)

I hope you're right about up to 33% of the participants in Chicago will be dead money, but I doubt it. Chicago may be tougher than Vegas. Perhaps Chicago has attracted the more hardy, astute, and serious participants, while the lure of Vegas excitement has attracted a higher percentage of dead money and easy pickin's for some pros there who're lucky to get in a league high in dead money.

Actually, I doubt there'll be much dead money anywhere. I'd guess the odds would be about even for everywhere.

Well my thinking is that most Chicago participants will be driving will spend 1500-1600 for the whole trip. The vegas people have many who are competing in auction leagues and several pulling the double header with the WCOFB. Plus gambling money in Vegas and some sports convention going on. So I'm thinking for the average Vegas participant that they are forking over 3,000 to 4,000 per person, more or less depending on how the dice are treating them(or cards). Plus Vegas is attracting participants from all over the country. With no large ties to one or two teams. Chicago on the other hand are almost all midwesterners, with lots of Cub, Sox, Reds, and Brewers fans. I am certain that Chicago players ie Prior, Wood, Sosa, Maggs will all go earlier than expected. When the Chicago Tribune keeps feeding you how GREAT these players are you might start believing it. They didnt think Maddux was good enough to pay him before he left last time. Anyways those are my reasons for thinking that Chicago or New York will provide the grand prize winner. Oh by the way I'm a Cleveland Indian fan and they don't have anybody worth overrating and drafting too early so I'm in the clear in that aspect. Well they did have one great prospect but he is a gay porn star so I'll pass. C-ya in Chicago.

Well, the Big Ten tourney is going on this weekend and if Northwestern is in it we won't have a shot at recruiting their fan (that's right I said fan as in one as in uno as in numero uno as in un as in one less than 2...).
