A BIG THANKS To Our Online Drafters

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Mar 29, 2012 10:13 am

I have to tip my hat to all of our NFBC drafters who are participating online. This is without a doubt the best and easiest season we've ever had handling the online leagues. I don't know if it's the familiarity of the draft room that all of you got from the Slow Drafts or if you all just got more computer literate in the last year or if we're doing something right, but whatever it is IT'S WORKING.

Last night we had 14 online drafts going at the same time without nary a hiccup. We rolled back a few picks for folks, but for the most part there were no issues. Every single person was in the draft room on time, every single league started on time, every single person was prepared and it was 7 solid hours of online baseball drafting. We had 10 online leagues the night before and the same thing. So 24 online drafts the last two nights and not a single person was late for any of the drafts or really had any issues. That's amazing.

We've come a long ways with the online business. It's now a BIG part of our total revenue. And it's allowing more people to play in the NFBC and experience the competition and camaraderie. The software is working beautifully, the leagues are being loaded immediately and in time we can even enhance this experience online. We're getting there and best of all -- I know I've said it before, but it's very critical to everything we're doing here -- we own the software and can just continue to improve it and not have it be an anchor on our Profit & Loss numbers. You almost need to own this back-end software to make ends meet in this area of our industry.

Anyway, I'm proud of everyone for their efforts online to date and I know the Main Event Onlines will go smoothly too. We have a great crew at STATS who are monitoring those while we're hosting the live events. Keep it up everyone and enjoy. We will NEVER just be an online game operator, but for those of you who are drafting online it's good to see that everything is running smoothly and that we have help there if you need it. Kudos to Tom and the rest of the STATS crew for a job well done.

That sounds terrific. As the oldest rookie to ever enter an online event (Tuesday April 3), I asked online this ayem and got no response, so here I go again: What is the procedure? Is there a place where the steps are delineanted?

Set your kds on your team page.
On draft day, your draft room will be available.
You'll see where your draft spot is then.
Show up on time and draft.

Good luck.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
