Week 1 Lineup Deadline

Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Apr 02, 2012 3:13 pm

The deadline to set your lineup this week will be Wednesday. You'll have until 5 minutes before the start of Wednesday's game for any players you want to start from those two teams. All other players must be set in your lineup by 11:30 pm ET.

Tom

PLEASE address the other issue that the games on 4/4 & 4/5 do not appear on the set line-up page.

Thanks Tom,

What everybody is wondering is when we can expect to see the games on the 4th and 5th when setting our line-up. For those of us with a ton of slow draft teams this would save a lot of time.

Thanks,

Eric

You'll see those on Wednesday. The layout is done over a seven-day period. So the first period of seven days went from March 28 to April 3.

I'm all messed up...Tom please confirm. Japan games are part of week 1 and week one deadline is Wednesday April 4th? Second part we can change our hitters (only) on this Friday April just like in years past? Thanks we've talked ourselves into confusion.

Yes, Japan games are part of Week 1. Yes, Week 1 deadline is Wednesday, April 4th before the 7 pm ET opener. Yes, you can change your hitters this Friday just like in years past. Easy enough.

The 4/4-4/5 display issue like Tom said is because of the way we have this set up for the NFBC. They run on 7 day cycles and thus it is showing for the week of the Japan games. The next cycle starts on Wednesday and gives you lineup info you'll need for the next 7 days. Unfortunately, with the mid-week MLB opener it's catching our program in the middle of information. This will only happen this week, but it's not something that can be changed to help you guys see lineups for 4/4/-4/5 the way you'd like. But each week after this the info will be ideal. I blame Bud Selig for this confusion!! ;)

Okay, thought I had this, but the fact you can change hitters on this Friday leads to this question: to have SEA or OAK hitters qualify for last weeks games, do you only have to have them in your lineup on Thursday and then could swap them out on Friday if you wish, or do you have to have them in all four days (Thursday to Sunday) in order for their last week's stats to qualify?

Sorry for anything I may have missed in posts earlier about this.

You've got it. Yes, once you set your starting lineup on Wednesday, stats will run Wednesday night and include the Japan Games. Stats will run again on Thursday night and then on Friday you can switch out hitters if you'd like, just like any other week. Good luck all.

The first post in this thread, from Tom K, says the deadline (for players other than Miami and St. Louis ones) is 11:30pm on Wednesday. The sixth post in this thread, from Greg, says the deadline is 7pm Wednesday.

Which is it?

ZAZIE - considering how you spent your draft weekend, it is always harder to trust
anybody with the name TOM.

Forgive me Mr Kessenich, I hope you were able to "CATCH" the fact this was not
intended as a shot in your direction. Rather a good friend of mine that left the
cozy confines of his home city to head to the Midwest.

Jared - hope you survived my pal. I don't know HOW you manage this in
season. Best of luck to you both. ;)

Let me clarify, since I didn't say anything different than Tom:

7 pm ET tomorrow is for Cardinals-Marlins players. All other players for Week 1 must be set by 11:30 pm ET.

This is part of a change we will be announcing soon to setting your weekly lineups. We have enhanced the software to allow set lineup to be more flexible each Monday. I'll officially announce that change shortly and add it to all of the contest pages. It's a good move for players.

Come on guys this is starting to seem like you or IT (or both) are just guessing. Still can't see the 4th and 5th games.

Ken, I'm in seclusion with 4 doctors supervising my care full-time. It's too early to speculate that I will survive. But I have to admit I enjoyed the ride, even if it was all downhill. And, to be serious for a sec, I did appreciate my partner being willing to come to the Midwest and enable me to make the shorter trip to Chicago.

Thanks, Greg, for the clarification. You have to understand that some of your customers, me for instance, are none too bright and need everything spelled out for us.

Just a heads up. Wednesday and Thursday games still are not appearing on the set lineup roster.

Go to your team page - Roster Tab - Set Line Up

Underneath the veiw another teams lineup is a group of little green letters & numbers:

Wed Mar 28 - Apr 05 I Fri Apr 06 - Apr 08I click on the Fri Apr06 - Apr 08 section.

You will be able to change your roster for that set of games until your heart is content.

I hope this helps you.

DenverDan,

The problem is even when you click on either one of those periods, the dates 4/4 and 4/5 do not show up. I think that is the issue everyone is having.

that is great, but the dates 4/4 and 4/5 do not show on the 7 day list. So we have a problem.

not having those two dates show up is making lineup submission a LOT more difficult and time consuming than it has to be.

You can change your lineup if you're on the first set of games which covers Mar 28 - Apr 5

The issue is it doesn't show the games on the 4th & 5th but there is nothing stopping you change your team. It is annoying however as we are effectively setting a 2 day batting lineup (with being able to change on friday) and it makes it harder to see how to best use this first week. I spent an hour with excel making sure I had what I wanted which shouldn't have been necesary.

Set your Lineup today and trust me it takes hold for the Wednesday and Thursday games. Set your lineup and you'll be good to go. The site just isn't showing the 4/4 and 4/5 games now because of the Japan games.
