Re: Longoria down
Looking at the replay, I think it may be his hamstring.
I'm pretty sure this is bad.

Re: Longoria down

Will Carroll @injuryexpert
MRI for Evan Longoria this morning. Worry is torn meniscus. Prognosis dependent on whether surgical or not.

Hearing #Rays Longoria has a hamstring issue, guesstimate is he'll be out 6-8 weeks. Could have been worse.

Re: Longoria down
What's worse-
A player of Longoria's abilty being out till a possible August 1 (I don't know, I'm just using this date), almost forcing his owner to keep him on the roster hopeful that he comes back earlier, while at the mercy of setbacks...
or
A season ending prognosis in which you've lost your best hitter, but gained a roster spot to replace him...

OUCH......and worse it is at a position which SUCKS for depth.
At least the Ellsbury owners got to pick from an OK player pool.....finding another 3B is gonna be a bitch!

Re: Longoria down
As one of the guys who lost Ellsbury in a league I have a decent team in, I agree. OF replacements are 100x easier than the Hot Corner to replace. Good luck.BlindSquirrel wrote:OUCH......and worse it is at a position which SUCKS for depth.

Re: Longoria down
If it does end up being two months, and assuming (I dislike that word as much as Doughboys mislikes "projections") he comes back fully, you are looking at replacing over the next eight weeks about 10-15 HR, 32 RBI and Runs, about 3 or 4 SB, and about 200 AB with a 0.290 or so BA.
Nothing to it.

There's always jack hannahan... Oh wait, he's likely gone in most leagues too. Yep, going to suck finding a 3b. Good news is a recent update on espn says injury may not be as severe as first expected. (according to a tweet from the Rays GM?)BlindSquirrel wrote:OUCH......and worse it is at a position which SUCKS for depth.

Re: Longoria down
During the draft at #14, I went back and forth in my head between selecting Evan Longoria or Justin Upton. I went with Upton and watched Longoria compile nice stats while Upton got off to a slow start.
Hopefully, Longoria will be back around Memorial Day rather than July 4th.

Re: Longoria down
Nobody f@#%ed more than me on this one! Drafting on the turn or towards the end of the draft in most of mine this season including my two Main Events, Longo was the perfect pick there given the third base scarcity and his sure bet to finally return first round value this season...NOT!
I swear, who the f@#% is worse, Hamilton or Longoria these days? Now where that pic Jupinka posted of the stick figure bashing his head against the wall when you need it?
