Allen Craig - sure he missed a big chunk of time, but since he came back he has been a beast and is hitting cleanup. His numbers are like a first round pick since he came back.

Capuano - 23rd
Cespedes - 17th
Braun - With the 11th overall pick.

Good list Rick. Hamilton belongs on it also for how awesome he has been and the amount of teams doing well that have him.
Re: fantasy mvp to date, my votes!
Rafael Furcal at least deserves a mention. He's been tremendous and was an afterthought on draft day. Even if he gets hurt, he's given you more than you likely thought you were going to get out of him.

Good call on Ruiz. Adam Jones deserves a token mention.

Good one. Honorable mention to AJ Pierzynski (.287 BA, five HR, and 24 RBI's to date)!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Re: fantasy mvp to date, my votes!
Nice thread RT. I was planning something similar for my blog. There I was going to name the three MVP's of my teams as....
James McDonald
Rafael Furcal
Jim Johnson
I have all on multiple teams, got all at great "value" (sorry Dough), and all have produced even better than I could have hoped.

No sorry necessary, Glenn!
Now is the time we are seeing value.
We see zero at a draft table!
Those three have been of great value so far this season.
Some thought that they got great 'value' with Russell Martin in the 14th round of drafts, while others were thought to be over drafting Ruiz in the 15th.
No value for the Martin owners now....
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Re: fantasy mvp to date, my votes!
I drafted McDonald in the ME and cut him the first or 2nd week of the season.

Nick Markakis is turning out to be a great #4/5 OF.
I missed Capuano, but he is off to great start.
I targeted Mike Aviles late, got him in $1300 auction, but Deterra grabbed him in MtM Super...not afn mvp, but great, great value

Re: fantasy mvp to date, my votes!
This is off the top of my head driving home from a trip:
C:
C Ruiz - I think many gave up on him ever hitting for power. Power AND average. As much as I have always owned Ruiz each year, I regrettably only own him in 1 league this year.
A Ellis- talk about value, not bad for the last couple of rounds in a 15 teamer or as a free agent.
1b:
E Encarnacion- power has always been there. Avg is quickly dropping.
Runner up:
A Dunn- 14 HR and very well could hit his 40 again. Was his adp 14th round-ish even around the end of March?
2b:
M Aviles- avg hanging in there but the unexpected power gives him the early lead here. Hitting lead off and eligible at 3b and SS too.
Runner up:
O Infante- More HR than Uggla!!
3b:
D Wright- since EE and Aviles occupy other spots... How many players after 118 plate appearances to start the year have had a batting avg > .400 and an obp > .500? Just a couple handful of players and now Wright is a part of that list.
Runner up: K Seager- don't think he will keep on hitting like this but I'm guessing he's a top 10 3b this year with all of the injuries at this position. Undrafted in all leagues with faab would be my guess.
SS:
E Bonifacio- it's all about the steals but you can't steal any on the DL
Runner up:
R Furcal- would you sacrifice 8-10 steals and a .250 avg for a .350 avg? If so, then furcal beats out Bonifacio. I'm guessing furcal has more runs and RBI too, so the more I think about this, the more I think furcal is hands down been more valuable than Bonifacio. And while Bonifacio was a 8th or 9th rd pick by most, furcal was likely drafted after rd 20. With his history of injuries, did anyone think he would steal more than 10-15 bases this year?
OF:
Hamilton and Ad Jones are no brainers. I think C Young would have been at or near the top of this list too had he not hurt his shoulder. J Reddick has prob returned the most value out of any OF - doubt he went before round 20 in any of the 15 team live event drafts. Others worth mentioning: J Willingham, LaHair, J Schafer, and M Trout who is steaming toward the top of this list.
SP:
My vote goes to J Peavy. I'm thinking a lot of guys had no faith drafting Peavy. Adp likely was around round 20. While liriano sky rocketed up the boards and was going as early as round 10 during the last weekend in march, Peavy quietly was still being drafted 7-8 rounds later. Capuano, L Lynn, and J McDonald need to be mentioned. B Beachy has to be considered a front runner for NL CY Young at this stage as does Gio. From this point forward, the top 5 not in any particular order are: Verlander, Kershaw, Strasburg, Halladay, and Yu Darvish.
RP:
JJ, Rodney, and C Perez. Whatever.
