Dallas McPherson

McPherson was released today.
He'll always hold a soft spot for me.
'Fantasy Baseball Magazine' had a glowing article of him and how he was going to tear up baseball in the coming years.
I wonder whatever happened to that Magazine and those writers? :D

Ah yes - another PCL creation. He was supposed to be the replacement for Troy Glaus. I still remember him starting at 3B in the 2004 LDS against Boston, since Glaus could only DH. Injuries did him in early, but it looked like he was back after missing all of 2007 when he mashed 42 dingers in the minors in 2008. The Marlins had a spot cleared out at 3B and it was his for the taking.

I actually am pretty certain I drafted him in more than a couple early 2009 drafts, before he got beat out by Emilio Bonafacio to make the Marlins. He was coming off that 42 HR season in the PCL the year before and was supposed to finally arrive in 2009. Didn't happen of course and the rest is history.

Any mention of McPherson reminds me of his former Angel Teammate Brandon Wood - perhaps Wood will follow him into retirment soon and they can both hang out together again - perhaps here: http://brandonwoodretirementcommunity.com/

Good one, Ryan.
If reading anything about retirement homes, etc. I like to add three words before the period in each sentence.
'Before you croak'.
More fun that way....
