Chad Schroeder & Dave Potts In Line For $75,000 Cash Bonus

We all know that Chad Schroeder has a shot at a historic season as he has led the NFBC Main Event and the NFBC XII for the better part of two months. He currently leads both Main Events today and is line for $150,000 in grand prizes, $9,600 in league prizes and the $75,000 cash bonus. It's going to be a fun final month of action as Chad tries to hold onto all of them plus contend for the $75,000 prize in the Diamond League (he's 3 points out of first there, too).

But Chad isn't the only one battling for all of this prize money. Dave Potts -- the quiet, unassuming owner that he is -- is also in line for all of this prize money. While Chad is first in both Main Events, Dave is 2nd in the Main Event and 3rd in the NFBC XII. Sandwiched between them in the NFBC XII is NFBC Hall of Famer Lindy Hinkelman and his son Gabe. This should be a wild, wild race to the finish line.

WOW, is this race ever getting tighter!! With exactly two weeks left in the MLB regular season (barring any tie-breaker games which count in the regular season statistics) we have two guys who both have a realistic shot at both overall titles and the $75,000 cash bonus. Chad Schroeder is in first place in the Main Event and the NFBC XII, but Dave Potts is second in both contests and he's just 1.5 points out of first place in the Main Event!! Chad could win both events and the $75,000 cash bonus, or Dave could win both contests and the $75,000 cash bonus. Or they could split them!! WOW, what a finish this is going to be.

Good luck everyone, but good luck to these two guys as well. This is downright crazy!!

I'm sure the insurance company would make that decision!! You are right, ANYTHING is possible this season. But it sure has been fun to watch our two Main Events and to see so many people actually in the running during these final weeks for the $75,000 cash bonus. It's definitely been a good investment all around.

It's amazing how close the races are for so many of our national championships. I have a feeling when all is said and done I'm going to have to get Chad Schroeder and Dave Potts together for a friendly drink, along with Jeff Dobies, Andy Saxton and Donald Warner!! After battling each other for so much prize money, these folks may need to sit down at season's end and reminisce about the journey just completed!!

Yesterday Chad and Dave were just 1.5 points apart in the NFBC Main Event, but Chad extended that to 39.5 points today. But in the other national contest they are competing for the overall title in -- the NFBC XII -- Dave cut Chad's lead to 6.0 points. Both have a legitimate shot at both overall titles and the $75,000 cash bonus. Here's the Top 10 standings in both contests as of this morning:

In the NFBC Auction Championship, Donald Warner has cut the lead for the overall title to 17.0 points as Andy Saxton and Jeff Dobies continue to be in the lead. They've held the top spot since early May, but Donald Warner continues to add points in the overall standings and is now within 20 points of the title. It should be a great fight to the finish there as well.
