The 10th YEAR!

Greg and Tom,
Congratulations on your upcoming 10th season! It proves you’ve provided a great contest and great service. I was lucky to be able to be part of the first season and six others after that.
There will soon be champions for the 9th season. But I thought I’d jump the gun and look forward and backward.
As I look at my Pete Rose baseball the memories of past drafts come flooding back. I can’t remember one where I had a bad time. I have great memories of meeting fellow drafters and some of the experts of the game. I wish I could name them all but that wouldn’t be fair. I’d forget someone. But here’s
a special one. Shawn Childs, we always met for a day of horse racing at the sports book. I always enjoyed the day. He always had a smile on his face.
My favorite Expert: Gene McCaffrey. The Wi se Guy. His book should read just a flat out nice guy.
As for the boards: The Best: My man Dan. The classroom was and continues to be a classic. Granted it’s an insider joke but still a classic. As for the rest on the boards I love the back and forth. Some put up with me. Than some just hate me. But remember in the end it’s all in fun.
My best wishes for Greg and Tom. They’ve overcome a lot to keep the NFBC going.

Thanks John. I'm not bringing up anything involving the 10th NFBC season until we finish this memorable 2012 season, but I hope you and many others from our inaugural class thing about returning for our Diamond Anniversary. We've all been through a lot since 2004, but in the end we've all had a lot of fun, we've rewarded folks with a lot of money and we've all enjoyed baseball like never before.

The past decade has been a labor of love for me and Tom as well. We were both writers first at Krause Publications and honestly the NFBC was my idea to bulk up sales for Fantasy Sports Magazine. At the end of the day, the contest outlived the magazine industry, we outlived both Krause Publications and Fanball.com, and we're at a PERFECT PLACE with STATS LLC. We are in the process of unveiling our 6th National Fantasy Basketball Championship season and we look forward to our 10th baseball season very soon.

I will personally do everything I can to reach out to all 195 owners from that first NFBC season. I'd like nothing better than to honor most of them in Las Vegas during our First Weekend. I really think that we should make that First Weekend something special and it's quite possible that both Tom and I will be there to welcome everyone to those live drafts. We're still sorting everything out, but I think we're going to have an epic time in Sin City!!
