Who Wants To Compete In The First NFBC Slow Drafts?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Oct 23, 2012 12:46 pm

We don't have an exact starting date yet for the first NFBC Slow Drafts of the season, but our goal is to get these rolling by mid-to-late November. We are GUARANTEEING a $10,000 grand prize this year and again offering two price levels: $150 and $375. The league prizes remain the same with Top 3 teams winning cash prizes in each league. League prizes are:

NFBC $150 Draft Champions National Championship
League Prizes
1st - $1,000
2nd - $375
3rd - $125

NFBC $375 Draft Champions National Championship
League Prizes
1st - $1,400
2nd - $1,400
3rd - $1,400

We won't get Registration live for a few more weeks, but that won't stop us from getting the first leagues organized and ready to draft when the site is ready. Let's start the signup list now and see if we can be completely ready when the draft room opens up. Thanks all.

Oh, by the way, we are changing the name of this contest to the NFBC Draft Champions National Championship. The "slow draft" term gives it a bad connotation and not all of our drafts are slow drafts. We will have one-night drafts as well this year. The term "Draft Champions" is consistent with what we offer in football and it better describes this format where the owner who drafts best will be the champion. It's all about the draft in this format.

Okay, so to be part of the first Draft Champions leagues, just post your desire to compete here or email me at [email protected]. I'll compile the list and get these leagues set up once we're ready. Thanks all and LET'S PLAY BALL!!

Greg - I'm very interested in participating in at least one of the early slow drafts but have a question about the timing. When will you know the dates for the first few slow drafts? The reason I ask is that I'm traveling the week of Thanksgiving; others may be in the same boat. If the first slow drafts are starting up comfortably before Thanksgiving week, or right after Thanksgiving week, then you can count me in. If, however, the first drafts are beginning right around the week of Thanksgiving, then I think I better wait until I can join a draft starting 11/25 or later.

I'll watch this site for information about starting dates. Thanks!

In this scenario, I'd wait until after Thanksgiving to get signed up. These drafts should start before Thanksgiving, but not soon enough to be done before Thanksgiving. We have plenty of time, so enjoy the holiday and jump in once you get back just to be safe. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response, Greg. I definitely will look to join my first slow draft right after the holiday. Mike

Don't need to even ask about me, Greg. I'm in for the $150, and possibly the $375. Will see how that one shakes out. Thanks.

That does it. If Lins is in, I want out of this league! Too much for me to handle...his insufferable drafting practice, I mean.
