In Jason Bay, Chone Figgins, and Randy Johnson you have very good 1-2-3 round players.



You have nice additional power hitting in Richie Sexson, Eric Chavez, and Jay Gibbons. Randy Winn went nuts in the second half last year, but might not repeat at that level. Still he's a nice player to have.



Edwin Encarnacion and Bobby Crosby are players with very nice upsides / breakout potential. Loretta is a safe 2B who might hit .330 in Fenway. Jeremy Reed is a great defensive OF, and you know he's going to play.



You have Escobar probably won't post the ratios he had last year, but might strike out 175 hitters. Francisco Liriano could put you over the top.



You have three closers. You're really counting on Gagne, surprised you didn't back it up with Baez. I think you're correct that the others will do the job.



I like Jason Kendall less than maybe others do, and Damian Miller has difficulty on the batting average side.



I think you need depth at SP, which will be there in the pool, and you need to jump on Baez if/when he becomes available. Might be worth picking up a third catcher if Miller's batting average became problematic. But overall, I think you have a very solid team with no significant weaknesses.
