SOLD OUT: "Beat Chris Liss" Rotowire OC

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Feb 26, 2013 8:13 am

One of the great things about having Rotowire.com as our promotional partner this year is that we get industry veterans like Jeff Erickson, Chris Liss, Peter Schoenke and Derek Van Riper talking about our contests to their customers and on their SiriusXM shows. But on top of that, these guys are also veteran fantasy players and they also want to PLAY in our contests and compete against the best.

And that's good news for our die-hard NFBC players as well because now they can also compete against them and maybe even earn a spot on their radio shows if they beat them bad enough!!

These guys are checking out their schedules now and will be entering some of our contests shortly. Jeff is competing in the Main Event in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 30th, while Derek will be in Chicago for the Main Event on Saturday, March 30th. Jeff is also in LABR AL this weekend, Chris is in LABR NL and I know Jeff is also in Tout Wars on March 22-24.

But here's your chance to get a shot at beating Chris Liss first in the NFBC. Chris has just jumped into the Thursday, March 7th, 9 pm ET Rotowire Fantasy Baseball Online Championship. Chris is ready to beat 11 other owners in this league and he obviously will be competing with everyone else in the overall race for the $50,000 grand prize. But here's a little incentive for joining this particular league: Anyone who beats Chris in this league wins a 3-month FREE subscription to Rotowire.com. If you are already a Rotowire.com subscriber, you will get 3 months added to your subscription. And really, how tough can it be to beat Chris Liss in a 12-team league format?? Everyone who beats him in this league WINS!!!

Okay, so who wants to take on Chris in this league? Here's the current signup list:

What's the entrance fee on this and is it being hosted on the STATS site like the other NFBC drafts? Let me know. I'm considering it, mainly because I think Liss is a pompous ass who's so full of himself that he needs to be knocked down a peg.

Mikey, it's $350 and yes it's hosted on our site. This is just another league in our Rotowire Online Championship contest for a shot at $50,000. The only difference is that one of the participants is "a pompous".....nice guy. ;) You're welcome to take him on mano-y-mano if you'd like.

Liss is a pretty solid guy in real life, and one of the only radio guys whose opinions I respect. Nice guy.

That being said, Michael "Ichiban" Cohen and I will be drafting via Skype in this league (he's in Japan)...in it to win it, baby!

Good draft last night with Chris Liss. I thought he swung for the fences all night, but could have a good team.

I look forward to playing this thing out.

I'm sure he will talk about this team on Monday when I join him on the air, so let's see it:

C- A. Avila
C - B. McCann
1B -M. Young
CI - J. Smoak
UT - M. Moreland
2B -D. Ackley
MI - G. Beckham
3B - A. Ramirez
SS -D. Jeter
R - B. Hamilton
OF -G. Stanton
OF - B. Harper
OF - B. Gardner
OF - C. Maybin
OF - C. Granderson
R - A. Hicks
R -J. Profar
R -I. Davis
R -A. Jackson

P - M. Moore
P - T. Bauer
P - C. Lee
P - B. Anderson
P - C. Hamels
P -S. Baker
P - J. Broxton
P - J. Nathan
P - B. McCarthy
P - F. Liriano
P - J. Niemann

He got his dream scenario of Stanton and Harper at 12 and 13 and then followed up with Lee and Hamels. He rolled the dice with Granderson in the 6th round, but Matt Moore in the 7th was a bargain. His pitching staff is pretty solid. Good draft all around from Chris.
