Bryce Harper - Broken Thumb?

Post by Gekko » Tue Mar 26, 2013 3:16 pm

Bryce Harper is still dealing with soreness in his left thumb and may rest for a couple of days.

Speculation from my paperboy is he may have a broken thumb.

Nationals trainer Lee Kuntz is concerned enough with the swelling in Harper’s left thumb area that he will see Nationals medical director Wiemi Douoguih on Wednesday to determine the best course of action from there.

“If you get jammed enough, there’s inflammation in your thumb area from the trauma,” manager Davey Johnson said. “Rest does help it, I know. But the last couple days it hasn’t been swollen. Today it was swollen.”

Did they mention he's been 9 for 9 since jamming the thumb last week. I saw him play Sun and Mon and he was smoking the ball.

Mon night he dropped a fly ball off his glove and maybe that aggravated it.

Harper will be fine. They plan to let him rest so the swelling goes down.

Yes, and he appeared to call his shot on the second one ... looks like he hit it right to a paperboy in right field!
