Is that four or five teams taken from my league? Damn ... tough track, or resounding rejection of my draft? Don't answer that, please.

And damn, I'm just standing there, minding my own business guys ... Don't mind me. :-)

Just thinking the same thing with three (verrrry good teams of course) taken from my league including two in the first round! Damn long year coming up, I guess. ;)
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Jeff is up for the final pick, after which the 64-team field will be complete.

A lot of unproven teams were taken over highly-ranked career owners. It will be interesting to see if strong-looking rosters from the unknowns hold up against proven team owners as injuries and faab play a larger role over the season. Strategies were diverse and seemed to include drafting: (1) top owners, (2) hot starts, (3) key players, and (4) stacking the same owners. I'll post intiial team standings later today and plan on posting weekly updates.

As discussed/clarified: I have 64 teams to win the overall title, you have the undrafted 371 teams to win the overall title.

Will be fun to watch.

I would take KOQ's side of the bet as well, except that the field includes a pair of Massotto teams, which drops the "real" odds to 64 to 369. ;)

All kidding aside, this was a pretty unique idea and very interesting to watch play out. I would have liked to see a bit more commentary on why each pick was made, but all in all a fun spectator sport.

Good luck to all who took part in this experience, and that goes double for Roger. :)

You may be right Glenn, I have 15% of the teams vs 85% for KOQ, although I get a boost for having 17 of the 19 teams drafted by the top 10 NFBC owners. I'm guessing oddsmakers might see it as somthing like 2:1 for the field.

Hoping you take your/my team to a top 5 finish
I wanted to add some write ups to my picks ,but been pretty hectic around here. I will do one on why I picked yours though.
good power/good speed/batting average not there but you are not locked in to some of them players. You can drop them with no second thoughts but if they hit at all for you the upside is there.
pitching staff is solid ,it isnt going to make anybody say wow but it has the capability of putting up the numbers you are looking for.
Add in your ability to faab and manage your roster ,I think your team can turn into a contender.
Now dont screw it up :o

4. George Kleemann 26
5. Mike Massotto 26
6. Rick Thomas 25

And to think this crazy idea came about in our Bellagio suite over Corona's and whatever mixture Dennis was making for Tom and me. I think Tom is still hung over from that night!! I can only imagine what big idea comes out of next year's live gathering in the Bellagio suite. ;) Good job all.

Sorry about that. Will do all I can to fix that team. Very little effort spent on DTD League at this point.

Have been pre-occupied for a while. Will send it to you now. What and where can I find the latest standings for this thing? Thanks KJ.

Updated standings - first month:
1 Jon Stadtmueller - 30
2 Alan Greenberg - 30
3 KJ Duke - 29
4 Shawn Childs - 26
5 Mike McElroy - 25
6 George Kleemann - 19
7 David Rimel - 18
8 Roger Martin - 18
9 John Hogan - 18
10 Steve Jupinka - 17
11 Jeff Erickson - 10
12 Mike Massotto - 10
13 Michael Lins - 8
14 Dave Shovein - 7
15 Rick Thomas - 5
16 Scott Keikoan - 2

• Jon Stadtmueller leads the way after one month, winning the tiebreaker easily over Alan Greenberg. Jon's personal teams are ranked #92 and #112, while Alan's are #237 and #403.
• My team is being dragged down by Alan's #403 team - is he tanking it to stay ahead of me in DD?
• Scott Keikoan drafted the lowest ADP team by far based on career rank. His team is last in both categories with his best team "Queen Team" currently in 203rd place. :o
• Rick Thomas has all 3 of his personal teams in the top 52 overall, but in 15th place here has sucked at picking other teams!
• Rumor has it that Massotto lobbied hard to get his personal teams drafted here, no one fell for it - his teams are currently ranked #298 and #416. The "can't draft your own team" rule saved him further slippage in this contest! :D
• Jupinka is stuck in the lower half of this contest, but we know he is a closer more than a starter.
• Childs top team, ranked #14, is run by Stephen Fiore who frustrated the crap out of me in my last XII draft and is kicking my ass in both XII leagues we're in together. He's on Fiore! (is the "o" silent?)
• In my side bet with KOQ, he has 7 of the top 10 teams with his "field bet", inlcuding Dobies undrafted #1 ALL-IN. I have the #2 and #3 teams with Semsel/Norred and Ronny Mor's teams.

The "forgot to pay" list if down to two now - just need to hear from Kleemann and Shovein. Let's get this wrapped up guys!

As if I needed another anxiety for this early season, scrolling through the FAAB bids I find one of my DTD teams bid $484 on Heath Bell. Oh well, Come On Heath Bell!
