Weeks 1-3 Prizes From Tri-Star

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sun Apr 02, 2006 6:03 am

We are always looking for cool giveaways to add to the NFBC as we have great relationships with many memorabilia companies in the sports collectibles industry. For the first two years, we worked closely with Upper Deck Authenticated and Steiner Sports, giving weekly prizes to our contestants. Heck, we even gave away autographed photos the first year for SIGNUPS!!

We continue to talk with UDA and Steiner, but business plans have changed at those companies and thus we moved on. Tri-Star Promotions has exclusive deals with several athletes and we hope to tap into their resources for some good giveaways, while also making you guys aware of this solid company. They host shows across the country and I'm sure some of you have attended them before. If you don't like the prize, just tell your team to have a bad week and avoid the high week. Easy as that. :D

We'll continue working to make the contest better and the Weekly contest will always be there to give all teams something to strive for each and every week. I'm not offended if some folks think the prizes should be worth more than they are, but nothing in life is free. Everything we do has an expense attached to it, even though some people continue to want more, more, more.

It's Opening Day. Enjoy the game on the field and best of luck to everyone in the competition. It's apparent some of you guys have Cabin Fever and your patience is thin. Good thing mine isn't. ;)

I think Upper Deck just spoiled everyone. Those prizes pretty much covered the 25% that the contest wasn't paying back. But if we never had UD the last two years we'd be thrilled to get something here. This thread reminds me of how Barry Bonds gets angry when he is walked. Cheer up, dude, you just got on base.

The prizes are fine..even if you don't like a weekly prize that you may be fortunate enough to win, you can always toss it on ebay and someone in Maine is going to jump up and down when they win it.

Hey Greg, what are the other weeks prizes? I for one enjoy the opportunity to play for a weekly prize. I consider it a bonus, and it doesn't matter to me whether it is an autographed Griffey jersey(like the one we won in '04) or a ball autographed by Tanner Boyle. It is a nice touch, and very appreciated.

Hitting ahead of Kelly Leak has to produce a lot of runs scored opps.

Chest,

I am in dire need of some stolen bases, so Tanner Boyle is receiving some strong consideration. He is a fiery competitor, runs better on turf (like the Astrodome), but I think he'll be good for 20-25 swipes and 90+ runs. He lacks power.

Too many Timmy Luppis's on my team, I heard bjoak is dating Engleberger's twin sister? Any truth to that? Or the character buttermaker is based upon the life of Lance Turbes aka sportsbettingman.

Greg/Tom,

Any news on this week's prize, and future weeks prizes? Call me greedy, but I think it is a great touch. Who knows maybe we can nab another one along the way here.

We'll get that list of weekly prizes up ASAP, as our contact there hasn't verified the final 25 prizes. Sorry, but we'll get this from them ASAP.
