I didn't even know we were going to be able to make lineup changes from this app!! Very nice indeed. Kudos to the STATS IT team: "NFBC gives you the ability to track your fantasy scores in real-time and make those last second lineup changes from wherever you are."

Apple had more of the early adopters for smartphones, and early adopters would be higher income. But I'd bet that gap has and will continue to close. But you're right, the market share is not going to be 75% droid vs 20% apple at higher incomes, but without seeing the data I'd guess that in absolute numbers droid sales still are out-pacing apple by a decent margin at the higher incomes.

One other important point to slice across your income disparity - apple has a much larger share of female buyers than does droid, and that alone could blunt the income argument in terms of the NFBC since I don't see many females in these parts! One chart I saw showed 57% of apple buyers are male vs 74% for droid, so applying these to the overall market share numbers the share would shift to 83% droid and 14% apple. So, if males are buying 6x as many droids as iphones, but among upper incomes twice as many buy apple, droid still out-sells iphone 3:1 among upper income males!

If you want I will get the current #s but I did this ayear and a half ago as i did the mobile strategy for Merrill edge and the numbers then were hugely in apples favor... But I can ask the research guys and get the latest but I guarantee it is still in apples favor

Sure, I'd like to see them - but get the gender split too.

Ok, my share numbers were actually global, in the US it is closer. Official market share in terms of US subs was 52% droid, 39% apple. Now I'm intrigued, I'll see what I can pull up.

A lot of passion for an app you probably won't use kp. If you have internet access on your advanced world droid, you'll probably continue to use that access. I do on my liberal iphone and will continue using it instead of the app. I hope this helps.

And before you accuse me of Apple bias, I own 1 iPhone, 1 Android phone, 1 Android tablet and 2 cats. I use a Blackberry at work but hate them with a passion and I'm shopping for a windows phone (Nokia Lumia 920?) just to keep an open mind.

This is such a silly post Dead. What does "better" have to do with anything? If you were making a car feature and it was your job to put it as many cars on the road as possible, would you want it in a Ford or BMW? I think Microsoft already answered this...

The debate about Droid vs iPhone is hilarious. Full disclosure, I use both, one for work one for home. I don't have pets, but I like mice, at least for my computers.

Generally speaking, who gets apps first? Everywhere, not just at Stats, its almost always Apple. Why? Both platforms are great, so I don't think performance matters. Is it because young twenty-something software developers know young women love iPhones and its cooler to write apps for chicks then guys like KJ? Maybe, but software writers don't generally make the decisions. Is it to simply to get under the skin of Droid users because it is fun to rub their noses in it? Maybe, but my hypothetical question is posed mainly to get in a doggy pun.

The most likely reasons Apple apps get written first is because countless demographic studies show iPhone users spend more and travel more. Conversely, droid users save more, stay at home more and access the web on their droid phones about half as much as IPhone users do....

Anyways, just for fun, I'd like to guess what the percentages for smart phone use is here at NFBC...maybe greg would be willing to do a poll on what different people at NFBC use. I'm guessing guys like Dave Potts uses a Droid, guys like MTM uses an iPhone and guys like Kenyon a dumb phone, with overall ratios being something like 40% 30% and 30% respectively. Any other guesses?
