Dealing With Dropped Closers In Second Half

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:57 am

Every year in the NFBC we see second half cuts that deserve a second look. Many of them involve closers who were cut by owners who no longer can move up in their league standings in saves and try to pick up points by overloading on Starting Pitchers. We understand the strategy and allow the leagues to play out. If action needs to be taken, we will.

This week in one Main Event league two closers were cut by the same team: Ernesto Frieri and Huston Street. This team is 8th in his league with 77 points and making a run at Wins and Ks after earning just two points in Saves so far. We understand the strategy and will allow the closers to be available via FAAB. We know we are going to see more cuts like this in July, August and September and each league plays out accordingly. We just can't be pulling out every closer who gets cut because it is going to happen during the second half of the season.

Good luck to all and keep fighting for every point.
