Is Pujols Droppable
Is Pujols Droppable
Figured I would ask this question now. I have him on 1 team and am considering dropping him now becuase of his injury only.
Re: Is Pujols Droppable
Fair question. Four Main Event teams dropped him this week. One ESPN reporter said he would be "shocked" if he Pujols would be back this year. The Angels, by trading away Downs, seem to be admitting defeat for 2013, so the focus with Pujols should be getting ready for 2014.
Pujols is not available in any of my leagues yet, but if he were, I'd think hard about giving up a roster spot for him on the chance he comes back this year. Maybe yes, maybe no...depends on the team.

not to jump on conspiracies or anything but a lot of posters have mentioned pujols as a possible player who used PED's. so is there any way possible that "this injury" isnt all that bad but the angels and pujols have agreed that he will sit out the remainder of the season in lieu of a suspension?
again.. i know i sound like a crazy person, but with the media manipulating stories every day and our gov't lying through their teeth i just wonder how far and how deep things like this can go when there are millions if not billions at stake with advertising etc in play. i mean the people involved are big time and from the owners to the players to the lawyers and union reps you are talking about some pretty rich and powerful people.
maybe im just looking for a more entertaining story, maybe ive grown overly paranoid, but something like this happening wouldnt surprised me at all.

I dropped him on one team, strictly on the late report early last night he was most likely done for the season and once the Angels decided to become sellers yesterday. As for could he be a PEDS guy, rumors have been around for years... so who knows... but the same thing basically happened with Brauns family problem when he took some days away from the team 2 weeks ago... I've heard it was to get family advice on what to do about his PEDS problem and by the Thursday he came back, he had made his decision to accept...so who knows...swampass wrote:not to jump on conspiracies or anything but a lot of posters have mentioned pujols as a possible player who used PED's. so is there any way possible that "this injury" isnt all that bad but the angels and pujols have agreed that he will sit out the remainder of the season in lieu of a suspension?

Not on any of my (sorry ass) teams, but if he were....
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Yes he's droppable. These are all tough decisions we have to make with injured players in the NFBC where roster spots are very valuable and it's obviously tough decisions for folks who then want to pick him up with the hope of a September return. Just because he was a first round pick doesn't make him undroppable at this point in the season seeing the reports that make his return rather precarious. Good luck all.

Now we hear that Albert wants to come back and that's why he's not having surgery now but delaying it until the end of the season.
I picked him up in an ESPN league that has a DL slot. Wouldn't do that here.
Or would I? Ask me next Sunday night.
