You got to love fantasy baseball. Most of us watch as many games as we can get away with, research and rank players before each draft, and still there are surprises that hardly anyone saw coming. For instance, going into today's games:
1. Chris Davis, ADP about 125, leads all of baseball in homers and RBIs.
2. Chris Johnson, ADP about 341, is leading the NL in batting average.
3. Patrick Corbin, ADP about 436, is 12-3 and has the fourth best ERA in baseball.
4. Jeff Locke, ADP about 634, is 9-3 and has the fifth best ERA in baseball.
5. Bartolo Colon, ADP (and weight) about 500, Is 14-3 (tied for second most wins) with a 2.50 ERA (seventh best).
I'm sure there are more and some better examples, but you could have gotten pretty good odds if you predicted any of these in or before March. I wonder who will be next year's out-of-the-blue studs.
