As dumb as drafting Zero closers?

Watch 2014 be the season fewer than 5 closers loser their jobs.

Then you shouldn't have done that either. ;)

A lot of fun tonight with the DC Express. My team blows, but a good education for future drafts, and a lot of good guys to draft with. Four hours later, I'm wiped out, but a great way to spend a cold Friday night when the wife and all the kids are gone for the weekend. Good luck, fellas

Great job last night everyone. We will add next Friday's DC Express to the Registration page today and start a signup thread today. I have a feeling these Friday Night Specials will be a big hit during the long, cold winter. Thanks all. Matt, you'll be first on the list for next Friday night.

One owner (who I might add is very smart) had a pretty good start:
Hanley Ramirez LAD (SS)
Yu Darvish Tex (SP)
Adam Wainwright StL (SP)
Albert Pujols LAA (1B)
Matt Kemp LAD (CF)
Wilin Rosario Col (C)
Matt Wieters Bal (C)
Domonic Brown Phi (LF)
However, the owner also punted saves. If you are doing that and need to roll out 9 SP every week, your back-end SP depth has to be good. I'm not sure Brett Anderson 8 and Petit 9 qualify, but we'll see

I missed it, TWO owners punted saves? Maybe I can squeak out 2 points in that category afterall. :D

ya, i'm usually in the overall grand prize mindset. i dont think an owner has a chance if you punt any category. as for you, at least you made some decent closer gambles. i dont want to talk about which owner picked which players, but i think you will also have backend SP problems

Perhaps he's expecting Anderson to be the king of 3-inning saves?

Seeing Ellsbury go 4th overall threw off my strategy completely. I had planed to go Ells at 6, Kimbrel at 25! The rest of the plan was just as wacky.

if you know the player pool, having "your guy" go before you shouldn't really impact you that much.

other than punting saves, i woulda have liked to see your 21st pick go for a different position to better fortify your roster.

That guy's gonna hit 40 bombs at home this season.

And hit .175 too. He's the Adam Dunn of his position.

How sweet.... What you really meant is you wanted his 21st pick.

Did the clock impact any teams?

The clock didn't really affect me the other 14 owners did.
I really liked my start heck even felt pretty good after my first 10 picks but it went down hill after that.
Made a few gambles that didnt work out.
Missed a few players that I targeted.
I blame you all for dictating a few of my picks.
Other than that no complaints.
Good draft by all and looking forward to the next one.

the problem with this is he is a backup. maybe 200AB this season (assuming #1 stays relatively healthy)

one team kept taking the full minute, which extended the draft longer than expected. seemed like a couple time outs too

Roger - Like you said, solid first 10 picks or so. good job there. maybe 1 too many pitchers through 7 rounds though. probably a little overkill and hurt your offense a bit in retrospect. just nitpicking though

No problem/ I don't mind the analysis . I agree it is almost like I drafted 2 different teams. The good thing is it is very easy to see the error of my ways and can be corrected and ready by next Friday :D .
