12 SPOTS LEFT For $150 4-Hour DC League
There's been a request for the first $150 Draft Champions League with a 4-Hour limit, so we'll create a signup thread here for that. This is the same format as every other NFBC $150 Draft Champions League, except you get only 4 hours between picks. Let the fun begin.
Here's the current signup list for this new league, which will start the day after it fills:
NFBC $150 Draft Champions League With 4 Hour Clock
15 Teams, 50 Rounds, 4 Hours Per Pick
Starts The Day After League Fills
1. Josh
2. Deadheadz, Edmonton Canada
3. Marty Strege

So you guys LIKE waiting up to 8 hours per pick?
With all the frustration over slow drafters, I thought this would fill fast. Maybe Josh and I are the only ones.

Not a great league for those of us that like to sleep, unless there was an overnight suspend timer, like from midnight to 6am or something like that...of course, you would still be able to draft, just less of a chance to time out.Deadheadz wrote:So you guys LIKE waiting up to 8 hours per pick?

What we'd "like" to see in a DC league with a 4-hour clock:
1. Not mandatory but would be nice if managers exchanged cell phone numbers to allow text alerts when on the clock
2. Between midnight and 6am ET managers would queue pick(s) and let the clock run down (ie Auto after 4 hours)
3. No requirement to pick immediately when you go on the clock so long as you've given prior notice you'll be away until X time.
Of course there could be some other ideas which would improve this type of draft and we're not trying to exclude anyone just give each other realistic goals to promote a smooth and enjoyable draft experience.
Most successful leagues seem to have one or more shepherds who collect cell phone numbers and I'm willing to do this again for this league. We don't nag you to pick, just let you know you're on the clock.
Does anyone else have suggestions or questions about how we could make this type of league run well?
Cheers

I would be interested but don't want to start until we get closer to spring training.

Bump - let's fill this one up!
Can we get the 4 hour version as an option when you sign up through the main page?

No, it's not feasible to add another version of the DC on Registration. A lot of these 4-hour DCs fill up as we get closer to Opening Day and folks want to finish these in 10 days or less. I think you'll see more folks registering for a 4-hour DC in late February to early March.Corleone wrote:Bump - let's fill this one up!

As many folks have said, we are seeing a solid pace with all of the 8-hour DCs. Most are averaging 3 rounds per day. Yes, some are a bit slower than that, but getting 30-45 picks a day isn't bad at all. And I think we are filling more leagues because these are getting done quicker this year.
We'll definitely be more aggressive about helping to fill 4-hour DCs as we get into March, but right now it looks like demand just isn't there for these right now. If we get to 15 owners, we'll manually fill it up and get it started. Thanks.

Take me out of this one please.
I'll do the regular DCs and be happy to draft whenever my turn happens to come up.
Go DC 59!!
