I've tried several "strategies" in the DCs so far this year:
300 SBs - 100W - 150SV - punt power
120W - 200SB - avgSV - spec power
8Multi-Eligible Hitters
3Amigos-Tulo-Desmond-Segura
7OF-in-14picks

I've run out of creative ideas for team construction "outside the box" so I'm faced with dusting off one of these early debacles and tweaking it for the Sunday DC Express.

And if I'm remembering correctly, Gekko, the Auction last week was the first time this year I've taken Ortiz.
Kindof hard to hit a moving target, eh?

Cheers!

I would recommend playing this one straight up. IMO, an owner who consistently tries gimmick strategies is basically trying to hide the fact that he is incapable of competing by playing straight up. Gimmick strategies is like a built-in excuse for not winning....
Hey owner X, I see u didn't have any money finishes in the 5 leagues u played. What happened?

Mark,

Zip it! If the guy wants to try a gimmick strategy, more power to him! Competing against 13 owners is better than competing against 14!! :D :D :D

Okay, we are OVERSOLD for this Sunday's Industry Draft Champions League!!!

I listed the owners in the order that they contacted me to secure a spot and unfortunately two signups came in after the others. We need to get everyone signed up and if anyone's schedule changes we have Matt and George in reserve. We'll do this again next Sunday, so don't despair.

Okay, now I need to work on some sites to carry this live. They did that with the LABR Mixed Draft last night along with SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio and it was fun to watch the draft results in real-time and to be part of a Twitter feed with most picks. I found it interesting and I think folks will like this one as well.

Also, if you are on this list you'll need to email me whether you want your name on the Google Doc or your team number. Thanks.

Let's get everyone signed up for this under the $150 Draft Champions Express, Sunday, Feb. 16th listing on Registration and finalize this list. The first 15 owners get in as long as they sign up and get this done. Thanks all and enjoy.

No, just one league on Sunday night. I just listed the signups as they came in during my beauty sleep and unfortunately we have two extras after the first 15 committed. Again, if anyone can't make it for some reason, we know Matt is first up in reserve. Good luck all and sorry if anyone got left out, but you can see the requests as they came in along with signups that came in overnight.

Aw, HELL no!

As a first time participant in the 15-team format at NFBC you'd have to be pretty confident to think you could compete by playing it straight up.

When I look back on my 2014 Draft Champions leagues at season's end, I could think to myself "I thought I did everything right and I still got creamed" after playing it straight...or...

I could play a high variance game and probably still lose all my leagues but say to myself "man, that was a lot of fun."

Baseball is a game of crazy twists and random events. Most years fantasy players play it straight and some crazy random circumstances end up sinking their team.

I prefer to take "the road less travelled" with my DC teams and 2014 might be the year that crazy random events will mean the "perfect team" falls closer to one of my variants than it does to chalk.

That said, I don't go for such high variance in drafting teams in FAAB leagues.

No point going KDS 1,2,3...when you plan on getting Kershaw or a top MI to anchor your team.

Looking to get feedback from the others in this league...

I'd prefer to have my team go by it's team name rather than the owner name when the results are shared with the industry analysts. And a simple Team #6 tag would get tedious for those following the results.

1. Mark Srebro
2. Krys
3. Jeff Dobies
4. Bill Strickler
5. Jake Lesandrini
6. Chris Hughes
7. Michael Edelman
8. Roger Martin
9. Jim Christie
10. Bryan Vogel
11. deadheadz = "Stinking Badgers"
12. Jody Earley
13. Brian Brandt
14. Rick Hayden
15. Matthew Shepherd

What do you think? Do you want your name or your team name to identify your picks in the analysis of this Sunday Night DC?
If you reply with your preference, I'll update this list to give everyone an idea how we're trending. It's likely up to STATS to decide but leading up to Sunday we can certainly discuss it.

Guys, we're still reaching out to industry sites to see who will carry this week's draft. We've talked with the guys at BaseballHQ.com, Rotowire.com and Mastersball.com and I think all three sites will have links to this Google Doc. Could be fun.

Our setup has the online draft boards viewable only within the league, but what we're seeing here and what we saw with the way RT Sports did it for the USA Today LABR Leagues has us thinking of a redesign in the future to make our boards viewable to the public as well. This isn't an overnight project, but it's definitely something we want to do for the football season. We definitely see the benefits of this and think it could be a win-win for the industry, our contests and our participants. We're on it.

I'll post by Sunday where everyone can view the results of this league. Stay tuned.

IMO. I think it makes sense to have your message board name as your team name for this particular draft. If a someone wants to comment on your pick(s), they'll know where to find you on this web site. From a marketing standpoint, you might have new people visiting web site and message board.

Thanks

Krys
