I'm up first with a pretty easy pick. I'm hurting for pitching so unless there's a negative report or Mo Rivera announces his un-retirement...I'll be taking Diamondbacks LHP Wade Miley.

Go ahead, tell me how bad my team is.

Arencibia, J.P. C TEX
Rosario, Wilin C COL
Craig, Allen 1B,OF STL
Moss, Brandon 1B,OF OAK
Bonifacio, Emilio 2B,OF CHC
Mercer, Jordy 2B,SS PIT
Wong, Kolten 2B STL
Alvarez, Pedro 3B PIT
Cabrera, Miguel 3B DET
Eaton, Adam OF CHW
Ellsbury, Jacoby OF NYY
Hamilton, Billy OF CIN
Marte, Starling OF PIT
Ortiz, David UTL BOS
Colon, Bartolo P NYM
Frieri, Ernesto P LAA
Garcia, Jaime P STL
Masterson, Justin P CLE
Ogando, Alexi P TEX
Parnell, Bobby P NYM
Santiago, Hector P LAA
Skaggs, Tyler P LAA
Thornburg, Tyler P MIL

What I want to know is, if my gimmicky teams are such bad strategy, why is it Todd Z has 5 players eligible at 2B?

I Kinsler
B Phillips
A Hill
M Prado
B Zobrist
With the draft being in the 24th round and you have pick number 1 does that mean you get 2 picks at 24/15 and 25/1 and we start round 24 with team 15 and work our way back to 1(you)?
Roger, yes, that is my understanding at least. It seems that Deadheadz has the Team 1 slot. However, because we are starting with Round 24, I suspect that he has the last pick in Round 24 (just like Team 1 would have in a "normal" snake draft). My understanding is that Stan, with the Team 15 slot, will get the first snak e draft pick when we start up again. Thus, whether Wade Miley will make his way to Deadheadz's roster remains to be seen.

If anyone thinks I'm wrong about this, please let me know. Thanks.

Mike
You are correct Mike. If you look at the affordable auctions thread, Greg explains this. Team 15 has the first pick.

Deadheadz....
Your hitting is good enough to compete (except for Bonifacio who will probably be carrying the Gatorade bucket in AAA this season), but I don't think you can compete with that pitching staff. Pitching is half of this game.

Was just looking at the draft rooms...the HTML draft room has all the teams loaded from the auction but the Flash draft room does not.

Is that going to cause any issues?

(the way you get to the draft room is by going from a currently running draft and changing leagues at the top right of the web page, in case you're wondering how I got there when the link isn't live yet)

The Cubs signed Bonifacio to a minor league deal, but that was just a 40-man roster situation. He will make the team and unfortunately :o play a lot.

Twenty $1 SP are just as good as one $20 SP, right?

Here's the theory: if I've got 20+ SP with rotation spots, one or more owners "may" have difficulty reaching 1000IP.

Thoughts?

I guess anything can happen if the owner didn't plan properly. Only need about 4-5 SP to guarantee 1000IP.

Another zany strategy that won't advance your efforts to win

What can I say? I was SABOTAGED!!
But if Doughy's numbers are accurate, the UC Factor will benefit me in terms of pitching.
