Chicago Drafts/Auction At Sheraton Northbrook

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Mar 07, 2014 2:02 pm

We are happy to report that we are hosting all NFBC Chicago events this year at the Sheraton Northbrook off I-294. This draft location is close to O'Hare and easy to get to from all locations. Just get off on Willow Road East and follow that for a few miles before turning left onto Founders. You can see the Sheraton from Willow Road.

Here is a link to the hotel, where several NFBC owners are staying, and a link to directions:

http://www.sheratonnorthbrook.com/

http://www.sheratonnorthbrook.com/directions

Rooms are still available at the Sheraton ranging from $87-$154 per night. I've stayed there many times and it's a very nice hotel. Again, there is a Buffalo Wild Wings in the mall across the street in case there's a need for that after the auction or drafts!!! This location will work out well.

We have a full auction for Friday at 4 pm and that will be held in Willow Rooms A & B. On Saturday we'll split the rooms for two Main Event drafts in an open space starting at noon CT and then Saturday night we'll finish up with a full Primetime in Willow A. We still have spots to fill for that 2nd Chicago Main Event and we'd love to have two full leagues in the Windy City. That's the goal if anyone is still looking into the Main Event there. It's the only event we have available now.

Dean Peterson of STATS will host the Chicago live events. Dean has worked our Chicago events before and he will be in New York with Tom on the First Weekend to coordinate those events. If anyone needs to get a hold of Dean on that weekend, contact him at [email protected]. STATS is actually located off Willow Road on Shermer Road.

Okay, we are set for Chicago now. I'm glad we made the return here as we have a great group of owners for all three formats. However, I still want to see us fill that last Chicago Main Event, so contact me at [email protected] if you have any interest. I know we still have owners from last year in Chicago who are thinking about a return here. Let's do it.

Thanks all and let me know if you have any questions or comments. We're here to help. Good luck in the Windy City.

Just a reminder here for Chicago drafters on location and the host hotel. We have 25 Chicago Main Event teams now and have room for 5 more. After yesterday's announcement there are folks looking at all of our Main Events, including the Chicago Main. Let's fill these two rooms up and have some fun in the Windy City. C'mon, we can do two full leagues, right? :D

What's going on???

I thought my official signup would have been enough to drive the last couple of holdouts to sign up :D . Hell, last year we had "out of towners" come in and take my money.

Come on folks, I'll not getting any younger and your chances to get my cash are getting fewer

**Wait, what's that? Greg's announcement yesterday wasn't about my signup.....**

Nevermind ;)

Let's fill it up!

Where else can you drive 5 minutes and get Lou Malnahti stuffed pizza?
Where else can you see Russel fall off of his chair?
Where else can you see the legend Vander in action?
Where else can you watch Ted J begrudgingly take Trout after using the full clock with pick 1?
Who runs a better draft than Dean the Machine?
Where are the Kleemans?! We can't have a Chicago draft without at least two Kleemans!

Just being among these guys is worth the price of admission.
A great experience.

geez i hope people aren't staying away because they are afraid of pausma! jack haan has said many many times pausmas' success was all because of jack being there with him- physically or in spirit. jack is "off" now- so no worries.

True. But after watching the Olympics last month I think I've perfected a reverse two and a half with a twist. You don't want to miss that :D :D

We did add NFBC veteran Jason Aberli to the Chicago Main Event yesterday, so we're getting closer to two full leagues. We're glad to have Jason back with us in the Windy City. Keep pushing guys, there's more out there!!!

Looks like the decision to have live events in Chicago is paying off... :)

We are very happy with how this turned out. It's a great group of owners who love the live events. If this goes well we might just return next year and plan a tour of STATS around it. We have too much construction on an office expansion there right now to do it and the road nearby is all ripped up. But next year might work.

We all know your statement is false because John and I have never won anything together. So there was nothing I could have said.

And how did I get dragged into this?

How did I get dragged into this. BTW the last few years I've been claiming to be the #1 ranked fantasy baseball guy in Chicago based on K J Dukes lifetime rankings that he comes out with every year. I can no longer make that claim as I believe it now goes to John P as #1 and that Ohio infiltrator that usually drafts in Chicago Eric Albright for 2nd. I mean to regain my title gentlemen. Now who's this Trout fellow you mentioned?

My draft prep is DONE. Bring it ON, Ladies.

My sleepers are these guys named Clayton, Max, Miguel, Andrew and this new guy Trout seems to have upside.

P.S. I actually did just buy this at the grocery store today. Effen thing is timeless and hasn't changed. I leave it on my coffee table all year. Gonna try to collect all of em since my birth year.

Make sure you bring a sweater. It is supposed to be 43 and rainy tomorrow - old guys tend to get chilly. Oh, and your reading glasses so you can see the price for your usual suspects - Adrian Beltre, Nick Markakis, Adam Wainwright, and even Brian Roberts for $1.

Correct:
4 pm CT - Friday for the Auction Championship
Noon CT - Saturday for the NFBC Chicago Main Event
6 pm CT - Saturday for the NFBC Chicago Primetime

Hope that helps. Safe travels everyone in bad weather.
