Friday Fanduel/NFBC Contest For Main Event Seat
This Friday we are going to run an NFBC-exclusive contest on Fanduel.com with a winner-take-all top prize of a free NFBC Main Event entry in 2015. Cost of entry will be just $25 and we'll limit the participants to 70 owners. We'll list the link later in the week, but plan accordingly. If this goes over well, we'll offer this a few more times during the baseball season.
Again, we'll open this exclusively just to NFBC owners and it will be a winner-take-all for a free entry into the 2015 NFBC Main Event, a $1,600 value. $25 per person, limit to 70 owners. Good luck all.
We should have the link by Thursday and the first 70 participants get in. Should be fun and a great way to possibly turn $25 into $125,000. Where else can you do that? Enjoy all and thanks to Fanduel for helping with this weekly daily contest.

Greg,
any chance this could be flexible so that the winner could use it for a 2014 football main event instead?

Can they be "flexible"? Ummmm, it seems like a cross-promotion with a daily BASEBALL game to win a BASEBALL NFBC entry. Why would it be connected to a FOOTBALL NFFC entry? Hey everbody, play daily baseball and win a free football entry. Dumb.mattjb wrote:Greg,

I dunno. Same parent company, so the profits still go into the STATS coffers. Yet we get to use our winnings half a year earlier instead of providing a year long interest free loan to the contest providers .COZ wrote:Can they be "flexible"? Seems like a pretty savvy request to me.

Sure, if you win a $1,600 free entry and want to use it for football we will make it work. It's a free entry to our Main Event and if you want to spend it in September who are we to say no. It's your winnings.mattjb wrote:Greg,

Just a reminder that this is ONLY FOR NFBC members. Fanduel is NOT going to open this contest up at the last minute. They want this to work for our members and to help promote our Main Event to new members. This could be a more regular contest if demand is there, which I think there is. Spending $25 for a shot at $1,600 or better yet $125,000 is a great promotion and the most there will be is 70 teams. Pretty sweet Friday night deal. Again, just for our customers, no Fanduel whales.
Should be fun and I hope we fill it up. This is a great way to use your $50 if you haven't played yet on Fanduel. Should be fun on Friday night. Thanks all and let's make this a regular Friday Night Special.

Greg - I signed up for Fanduel about a week and a half ago. Would I still be able to get the nfbc/fanduel discount?

Re: Friday Fanduel/NFBC Contest For Main Event Seat
To get the discount before the season, you needed to sign up using the link we posted on the site and sent to everyone throughout the off-season. That's the only way they can tell it's coming from an NFBC member. Sorry, that promotion has concluded, but we will be offering the same thing in football shortly.Gekko wrote:Greg - I signed up for Fanduel about a week and a half ago. Is KOQ going to by 3/4ths of the field?

Chad, I'm pretty sure the 15% rule is in effect for this league as well. Max of 10 or 11 entries per person.
A shame -- would have been great to lock it up!

15% rule? That must not have applied to a daily I entered a few days back. I think there were 100 max entries. I had one.King of Queens wrote:Chad, I'm pretty sure the 15% rule is in effect for this league as well. Max of 10 or 11 entries per person.

98 others were "kingofqueens". The 100th entry was "kingofqueen". I figured you left off the last "s" because your hands were cramping from entering so many lineups.

Yes. Fanduel locks down the salaries then for the next day, I assume. Look for it on Thursday and we'll close out the league as soon as we have 70 participants. Let's show Fanduel we can fill this and give out a free NFBC Main Event entry every week!!!CA Dreamin wrote:Is the link to sign up still going to be posted on Thurs?

Sweet, I'll be at the Dodgers/Rockies game Friday night. Won't get to see all the action (unless I put a couple COL/LAD guys on my team)
Genius idea. Great job guys!

So can someone with deep pockets enter multiple times or is this 70 different entries?
Re: Friday Fanduel/NFBC Contest For Main Event Seat
Hi gents, my first ever post on the board. I am a long time fantasy baseball/football player following Greg and Tom when they published a fantasy baseball magazine back in the day. I am a little late to the NFBC party having been in business for 7 years along with working a full time job. Long story short, business is over and I am filling some of my free time with NFBC and count me in for the fan duel promo if I can get in. I joined an online league this year, hopefully I will meet some of you in a live NY draft in the future. Good luck to all this season!

Add 2-3 more leagues next season and your free time will be taken care of
Welcome aboard...
