It is my opinion that the NFBC is the home for the best fantasy baseball in the market. So this is not me complaining or politicking for any kind rule change. I just know high level guys play in these leagues and talk shop on these message boards. As I look at my team right now I have 4 and soon to be 5 players on the DL. This leaves me with a bench of only 3.
I am 100% certain the idea of allowing owners to place a DL player on reserve to open up a bench spot has been discussed. There must be pros and cons. I am curious to know what they are. As I look at my team now it really handcuffs me because I cannot cut guys like Harper, Zimmerman, Braun, Hamilton, etc. (I do not have all these guys, just using as examples).
Pros and cons of adding DL spots
Re: Pros and cons of adding DL spots

Here's how I see it in a nutshell.
Most fantasy baseball sites with DL slots give you 5 bench and either 1 or 2 DL slots.
NFBC gives us 7 bench slots so we have room for players who are DL or not, over and above the 5 they may have chosen to give us when they came up with the rules. To me that seems fair since teams would otherwise just draft DL players and put them in those slots anyway so why not give everyone the two extra slots to use however they want?
I think NFBC anticipated the need for the extra bench space and gave it to us from the start but since they don't say "DL" we will always have someone who wants even more bench slots. If they went to 5 bench and 2 DL would you be any happier? Not likely.
That's how I see it.
