10 Questions

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Mon May 05, 2014 3:00 pm

10 Early questions to ponder....

1. Opinion.
Who is scarier to own-
Ryan Braun who can't stay healthy or Prince Fielder, who can?

2. Opinion.
Who looked better during their last year-
Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, Derek Jeter, or Mariano Rivera?

3. Opinion.
Who would you rather have on your bench-
Chris Sale or Aroldis Chapman?

4. Fact.
A current Manager has the worst winning (or best losing :D ) percentage with at least 1,600 games managed, of any Manager born in the 1900's.
Who is he?

5. Fact.
In 2009, he was the only player to get three hits in a game against number one pick, Steve Strasburg.
Who is he?

6. Fact.
What 20/20 player from last year is 0/0 through 103 at bats this year?

7. Opinion.
Who is more likely to make it through the season without getting hurt-
Giancarlo Stanton or Troy Tulowitzki?

8. Opinion.
It is the top of the inning-
Would you rather have your speed guy leading off the inning with a triple or single?

9. Opinion
Fantasy-wise, do the two worst shortstops, Jeter 0/0 and Tejada 0/0, play in New York?

10. Fact.
A hitter is 15th in all of baseball, striking out 34 times. He has walked just one time. Once. A 34/1 ratio (duh :D )
Who is this hitter who is hardly ever benched by a fantasy Manager or real Manager?

BONUS QUESTION-
A Manager is hitting his pitcher eighth today.
Pretending that his club's offensive woes does not come from his decisions at the top of his lineup, rather, the bottom.
Who is the Manager?
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

1 braun scarier
2 mo better
3 sale
4 bo knows losing?
5 someone who generally sucks but has a secret vendetta against Stras
6 when will Will hit in san diego?
7 Stanton, but the smart play still says neither
8 definitely a single
9 yes, NY sucks while Chicago is pretty awesome :D
10 seems like Billy Butler, but probably someone else

I'll reply to the opinion questions and leave the questions that Kevin did not get right for others....

1. Braun...it may be another 'lost year'

2. Mo....by far.

3. Aroldis Chapman. Only because it's not his arm.

4. ???

5. ???

6. Will Venable also has the lowest rbi (2) of all qualified players.

7. I'll say both hit the dl. Tulo first.

8. Single for me. I want the op for a sb over the almost sure run scored.

9. Between Jeter and Tejada, there are no hr and no sb.

10. ???

Bonus question-
Just my way of lashing out at a Braves Manager who went to the Don Mattingly school of lineups.
What is wrong with batting Uggla or Upton eighth? They may see some pitches from pitchers want to see the opposing pitcher lead off the next inning. Instead, Simmons wallows at the back of a lineup that has been spear headed at the top by Heyward and BJ.
Senseless.

Correct.
Number 5 is the toughest.
Hint. The player that was the only hitter to get three hits during that season vs. Strasburg is now in the Majors.
Strasburg was 13-1 and only gave up 59 hits total in his final college year.
In the game Strasburg lost, he struck out 15.

I think I was at this game believe it or not; my cousin was dating a girl from Utah, and we went up for the weekend.

Not 100% sure, but with the "now in MLB" hint, I think it was CJ Cron that got 3 hits....Strasburg went to 11 or 12-0 that night and looked like a man among boys (of course)...I know that Cron got 2 hits for sure off Stras, and think it was 3.

The only reason I know this is Cron was dating my cousin's gal's friend....small small world.
