Blockbusta

Post by GetALife » Fri Jul 04, 2014 9:30 pm

Who gets pushed out of the A's rotation after this one? Pomeranz is hurt, but he might come back in relief now. Milone has been unreal lately. My guess is Pomeranz goes to relief, and Milone as well. Not so sure though because Chavez has been a little shaky lately. hmmmmmm........
Who gets added to the Cubbies rotation; anyone good?
They picked up Russell when they already have Castro and Baez? Or, does Russell go somewhere else in a three teamer?

Self-Reply to these boring lifeless boards here:
Seems like a lot to give up for a few rentals though. Billy McKinney and Russell are likely to be very good. How likely the A's resign Shark? Not very. And why should they with the danger of tommy always in the wings?
I was thinking they would find another bat (i.e. second base? outfield?)? Maybe they still will!

Cubs have to be planning something/more trades... 3 SS now? Arismendy Alcantara for 2B, Bryant for 3B... Might be they see AA going to OF, possibly one of the SS to OF, but that still leaves too many SS. Better get some pitchers though.... Cubs fans going to be pissed too now, because this trade just blew up this years chances. They should bring some of these kids up now, just like the Stros have been doing.

The Cubs have a long-term plan which that are carrying out to a tee - stockpile a ton of young hitters, throw darts at some pitching and when the hitting is ready they'll deal for established starting pitching.

It's a more efficient use of resources to develop hitters.

No need to panic for Cubs fans - complete win/win deal for both sides.

This year's Cubs chances? None - before or after the trade. That's ok - I'm a Phillies fan and we are even worse this season.

Baez or Bryant are likely to wind up in right field.

tood z- "no need to panic cub fans". panic? they have been waiting 100 years- they won't panic. i agree with you on the hitting/pitching but man darvish and tanaka look real good now. the guy that bought the cubs with the $ his daddy made better be right.

Hammel's contract only through this year BUT Samardzija under contract for next year for Oakland

Agree they are trying to find a second baseman who can hit
