We now have two full leagues in Chicago and should easily equal or top last year's total of 45 main event participants in the Windy City. Great job everyone as we are closing in on 15 full leagues, leaving us with about 135 spots left. Keep 'em coming and thanks everyone for the great start.

We have 15 full leagues for the main event among all four cities and have already begun on our 16th main event league. Keep 'em coming folks as the rush begins after the Super Bowl. We're off to a great start and should reach that goal of 360 for sure.

We also have 33 signups for the NFBC Ultimate Draft League and a 34th signup ready to join in. Let me know if you're interested in that Sunday, March 18th league as we're really rolling along. Thanks everyone.

We now have 16 full leagues for the NFBC's main event, a total of 240 teams signed up so far. This sounds kind of odd on Feb. 1st, but THERE ARE ONLY 120 SPOTS LEFT!!! Sign up now and join us on Saturday, March 17th for the main event!

We now have five full leagues for the main event in New York. Welcome back Joe Kruk.

Okay, the count as of this morning for the four cities is:

Las Vegas 109

New York 75

Chicago 35

Tampa 29

Keep 'em coming everyone as that's 248 with five weeks of prime signup time to come. Let's fill this up with 360 teams and maybe get the draft spots to you early this year! Thanks everyone.

We've had a nice run on Chicago this past week as we're now at 37 for the main event after finishing with 45 last year and we're even making a bit of a run at the $650 NL Auction League and the $650 Mixed Auction League. Keep 'em coming everyone and let's have some fun in the Windy City this year.

Welcome aboard Philip McDonald and Stephen McCaleb. Good signups today on Super Bowl Sunday.

We're at 271 for the main event, which means we have less than 90 spots left for the big dance. We're closing in on 18 full leagues soon. What a crazy, crazy two days of signups since the Super Bowl finished. Thanks everyone and don't delay too long. Baseball is upon us!!!

We have 18 full leagues for the main event and are already well on our way with the 19th league. The response is crazy right now as we have about 86 guaranteed spots left for the main event. Thanks everyone and keep watching the first post of this thread for the latest list of signups for each league.

It also looks like we are full for the $1,250 Mixed Auction League in New York, a first for that event in the Big Apple. I just have to confirm the last signup and then we'll be good to go. Stay tuned for more details on that one.

Keep the signups coming as we'd love to fill up the main event before our deadline and get everyone their draft spots early this year. Thanks again.

Morning Greg!

I've heard your rational on capping the number of signups...but wouldn't it be nice to have a sliding scale for 2008?

Example...

If 450 signups...League winners get $6,000.00, etc.

A creative/profitable sliding scale to allow maximum signups, as well as hitting targeted reward numbers.

Just a thought!

~Lance Although many sites are in violation, it's my understanding that the fantasy sports carveout in the internet gambling law requires preset prizes not linked to the number of participants.

~Lance JP is correct. The fantasy carveout language in the recently passed Anti-Internet Gambling Bill states that to legally run fantasy games you must state the grand prize and prizes in advance and not base them on number of entries or total entry fees. We've been operating under those guidelines since we started in 2004, which is why we took a huge loss in 2004 when we had only 195 signups and even during the last three years in the NFFC when we've failed to reach our goal of 350 teams (224, 280, 322).

We did put in the rules that we could go above 360 teams and put those terms in the rules, but we're not looking to go much beyond 360 at this point. Just selling out again would make me smile!! Oh, and comprising full league cities would even allow me to have an extra Corona on Draft Day!! :D

Although we want full leagues in all of our cities, past experience tells us there might be a need for a teleconference league or two. If we need to do a teleconference league between cities, the participants will be pulled from the last batch of signups. So to ensure you get a guarenteed draft slot in the NFBC AND in a non-teleconference league, sign

up now! Don't delay.

Greg I interpet that as if you are one of the first 30 in Tampa you are guaranteed not to be on a phone.

Am I reading that correct? If so I applaud the decision.

We have one opening left for the $1,250 NL Auction League in Las Vegas if anyone is interested. That league had been full the last few weeks, but we had one change that opened a spot. Sign up online if you want that last spot.

We now have 51 owners signed up for the NFBC Ultimate Leagues and two more owners who are ready to jump in. We have 15 owners for the Ultimate Auction League, but one of those owners would be willing to go into the Draft League if possible, so there may be one spot open in Las Vegas if you're interested.

Anyway, if you're interested at all in the Ultimate Draft Leagues on Sunday, March 18th, let me know as we're just taking names for now on that third league and won't hit cc's until that one is completely full. It would be great to add seven more owners. Thanks everyone.

We filled up our eighth league in Las Vegas for the main event last night and started on the ninth one. We finished with nine full leagues in Las Vegas last year, but it looks like we're going beyond that this year. We have 20,000 square feet at the Flamingo, so we have PLENTY of room. Keep 'em coming as we are closing in on 300 signups. Awesome job everyone.

Just keep looking at the first post on the first page of this thread for the updated signup list for the live drafts. We added a few more auction league signups in Las Vegas recently as well and should have 7-8 auction leagues there on Friday, March 16th. Good job everyone.

We've filled up the $1,250 NL Auction League in Las Vegas again as Daryl Ravani of Poway, California grabbed that last spot. We still have a few spots left in the $650 NL, AL and Mixed Auction Leagues in Las Vegas, however, so grab those if you want to double your fun on March 16-17 in Las Vegas. Welcome aboard Daryl.

We now have three full leagues for the main event in Chicago thanks to the return of Aaron Seefeldt of Northbrook, Illinois. Aaron finished second overall in 2004, but he sold his business this year and wasn't sure if he'd have time to devote to baseball. But the lure of this competition got the best of him and he's coming back for the main event. Welcome aboard Aaron as the NFBC wouldn't be the same without you.

I'm confident we can fill one more league in Chicago as several members from 2006 haven't officially committed yet. C'mon Midwest baseball fans, let's get 15 more signups for the Windy City.
