NFBC Champions League -- 5 Openings

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Nov 27, 2006 8:35 am

We now have 10 league champions from 2006 who have agreed to compete in our 2007 NFBC Champions League, which will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. EST on MockDraftCentral.com. We are playing for a $500 entry in a 2008 NFBC Satellite League and bragging rights. Same rules as NFBC main event: 15 teams, 30 rounds, FAAB begins in early April and we play it out on the NFBC game site.

Here are the owners who have agreed to compete:

1. Greg Morgan

2. Andre Boucier

3. David Van Der Stuyf

4. Dave Kerpen

5. Brent Grooms

6. Bobby Jurney

7. John Hogan

8. Matt Mickle

9. Chris Stephenson

10. Steve Pletkin

I'm looking for five more past champions to join us and if we can't find those owners in the next two days, we'll take anyone who is willing to compete with the best. We'll post some of the draft results online and all of them will be in our first issue of Fantasy Sports Magazine, so you can't be shy! :D Let me know if you're interested in joining us and we'll get the draft spots picked by next week. Thanks everyone.

I will fill a spot if you're in a bind.

I am not a champion, but I have played one on TV.

If you do not fill it up will real winners, toss my name in the hat with the other wannabe's.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

~Lance Lance, you definitely are the voice of reason!!! Now, think about Las Vegas in March, with 64 NCAA games in the sportsbooks, spring break for the young college kids from the West Coast schools and St. Patrick's Day on Saturday night all rolled into one. And then there's this baseball live draft, too. I know you love Vegas in September, but you CAN't BEAT THIS!!! :D I'll keep pressuring you into this live draft yet!!!

September in Las Vegas is calm compared to March Madness in Sin City. It's as wild as it gets and there's so much action on the college basketball games that you can't help but bet a little on every single game!! :D It's too wild. Find a $200 flight now and stay at Kimo's house for $60 a night. You can't beat any of it. Kimo is look for bunkies and Zaleski stayed there two years ago and had a blast in the comforts of home. You won't regret coming back for more.

I'd love to get together with the hard core group you have here!

I'll have to book rooms early...two years ago (When Chest schooled me (but I took notes))...I waited until the last minute, and think I spent almost $800.00 for two nights at the freaking Excalibur!!!

Lesson learned...book early...book often!

That would be cool to party with Greg, Chest, Gekko and the gang!

[/QUOTE]Thats right Gordon! You are more than welcome to stay at Kimo's Ranch. Are any other fellow NFBC owners looking for a place to kick back and enjoy Vegas? No need to spend a lot of money on rooms when you are out of the rooms for 90% of the time anyways. The only time you really need a room is on Sunday morning, when you are all hung over. :)

I know Sats don't compare to the main, but I won mine last season with owners who finished 13th and 17th overall last year in the main. Plus I would love a chance to compete in another league with Pletkin and Hogan. And it would give everyone a chance to ridicule my picks some more. Why not let the 2006 NFBBC Champ play in a NFBC Champ league? ;)

Okay, we have lots of good volunteers to choose from, but I'm still giving one more day to 2006 NFBC league champions. Here's the list right now:

1. Greg Morgan

2. Andre Bourcier

3. David Van Der Stuyf

4. Dave Kerpen

5. Brent Grooms

6. Bobby Jurney

7. John Hogan

8. Matt Mickle

9. Chris Stephenson

10. Steve Pletkin

11. Glenn Schroter

12. Eddie Gillis (if we can tear him away from football)

We'll finalize this league tomorrow. Thanks everyone.

Sandi Kleemann finished 17th overall and FOURTH in her Chicago League, so we're bringing her into the Champions League as consolation for a great, great season and no prize money to show for it. We're up to 13 teams right now. Here's the list right now:

1. Greg Morgan

2. Andre Bourcier

3. David Van Der Stuyf

4. Dave Kerpen

5. Brent Grooms

6. Bobby Jurney

7. John Hogan

8. Matt Mickle

9. Chris Stephenson

10. Steve Pletkin

11. Glenn Schroter

12. Eddie Gillis (if we can tear him away from football)

13. Sandi Kleemann

We will have a second draft in the next month for our second magazine and will likely reach out to those dedicated owners who have volunteered their services for this one. Have no fear, if I can't get you in this one I'll do what I can to get you in the next issue/draft.
