"Reds manager Bryan Price indicated Monday that Jason Marquis and Paul Maholm are good bets to make the team's rotation."

""The thing is, when we have veteran guys like Marquis and Maholm, you're not going to use them for one start," Price said. "If they're going to be on our team, the hope is that they're on our team for an entire season, if not longer. And that's how we have to look at that. … You can back-and-forth a young guy. You can start a game or two and then go down to the Minor Leagues or go to the bullpen and help us as a long guy. So Marquis and Maholm are looking more like long-term, start-to-finish options for us." The Reds have decided to move Tony Cingrani to the bullpen, which means there are three rotation spots up grabs with Homer Bailey (elbow) slated to begin the year on the disabled list. If Marquis and Maholm lock up two of them, that leaves Raisel Iglesias and Anthony DeSclafani to battle for one spot. Neither Marquis nor Maholm are good bets to remain in the rotation for the duration of the season even if they break camp as part of it. "

Price sounds almost excited about having Maholm and Marquis...veterans, smeterans...

Like trying to be saying "if I am forced into going on a date with your flop-sweat chunky cousin with chronic halitosis, I might as well get laid!"
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

"Zack Greinke limited the Athletics to one run over three innings in his start on Monday.
Greinke's only hit resulted in the only run he allowed: a home run to Josh Phegley. He also walked one and struck out two. The right-hander had a slightly late start to the spring after getting an elbow injection in February, but there shouldn't be any concern about his ability to be healthy and productive in 2015."

Pay no attention to that needle sticking out of his elbow. Elbow injections are normal. Nothing to see here. Nope. Everything is OK.

Alex Cobb said after leaving Tuesday's game that he doesn't think his forearm tightness is serious.

From the AJC which I am sure they just cut and pasted from the wire reports:

"Hoping to create a huge playoff scramble, MLB said it will start all 15 regular season-finales on Oct.4 at 3 p.m. EDT."

You guys may have already known this, but with all 15 games going at the same time, the guys in the hunt (i.e. everyone who is chasing me) are going to have a helluva time...ADD dream but kind of tough on us, though nice for east-coasters not having to stay up so late to see the final outcome.

What it said-

'Daniel Murphy (hamstring) will be shut down for at least the next week.
Murphy was given an MRI, with the Mets only saying that the second baseman suffered a pulled right hamstring.'

What it means-

Amputation scheduled.
The Mets feel forunate in that it was his right leg, Murphy being a left handed hitter.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
