I watched the TOR-NYY game last night and I must say that I have to fault Gibbons as much as Cecil for blowing that game. Gibbons brings Cecil into a 3-1 game hoping to get a 6 out save! :o Those situations rarely work out well. So, Cecil uncorks a wild pitch to make it 3-2 and with runners now on second and third puts the next batter on intentionally to reload the bases. After which he hits the next batter to force in another run making it 3-3. Next batter hits a comeback grounder to Cecil that was a tailor made inning-ending DP ball but it glances off his glove and bounces away to short outfield allowing go ahead run to score. Not exactly a great hitting rally and not one ball hit hard but nevertheless 3 runs scored and Cecil got the hook right there and now he gets the hook from the closer job too!
And the early season closer carousel continues! Rev up the FAAB engines for Castro!!!

That is a ridiculously quick hook. Makes you wonder how much leash Gibbons will give a 20 year old who has never pitched above A ball before this year.

More proof drafting lefty closers before they are well established is dangerous. Managers want their lefthanders to be able to match up with the lefty dominant part of the opposing lineup when the game dictates it, not necessarily just the ninth inning.

I would not be going all in on Miguel Castro to be the closer long term. Might be prudent to stash Cecil if on your roster until this sorts itself out.
