Sano will take over as the Twins' regular designated hitter in Thursday's series opener against the Royals. The 22-year-old was sporting a .918 OPS with 15 home runs and 48 RBI in 66 games this season at the Double-A level and he's a must-own in all standard fantasy leagues for his massive power potential.
I admit I'm a Sano lover. I picked him up via FAAB in the NFBC AL Auction back in April and have been sitting on him ever since. The guy missed all of last season with an injury, but is back healthy this year. He started slow in April, but has been on a MONSTER tear in May and July. In 178 AB he has 16 doubles, 1 triple and 11 HR with .315 avg and 4 stolen bases thrown in. ALL FROM THE 3B POSITION!!
if you are lacking in offensive production, may I recommend a "maximum bid" scenario this sunday? Maybe leave yourself $50 FAAB for the rest of the season and put the rest on Sano.
PS - Gallo owners wish they had Sano. Now they just have an empty wallet and with that a lost opportunity of bidding on Sano and future FAAB pickups.
