All-Star Break - Set Lineup Deadline

Post by King of Queens » Sun Jul 12, 2015 4:01 pm

Just a heads up that the Set Lineup page currently lists a Tuesday 11:25pm lock time for all hitters and pitchers. During the All-Star Break of years past, we have had until Friday's first games to set our lineups for all players. Will this be the case again in 2015?

Speaking of which, wouldn't it be nice to have a break from FAAB on the Sunday of the All-Star break, give us a few extra days to process the latest injury/line-up/pitching information and a few days just to assess & analyze the carnage... I mean our teams... while no games are being played?? As a I sit down to slog through FAAB, I'm thinking, why are we doing this tonight when no games are being played for 5 more days. It'd just a be nice little break to have this run on Thursday or even Wednesday just for the All-Star break week.

Hopefully Gregg or Tom will chime in with either verification of this peculiar time or a note that it will be changed??

Like many home leagues TOUT has moved it's FAAB run to Thursday night - more time, more information .... just a better break and lineups shouldn't be due until Friday

Yes, it will be 5 minutes before a player's first game on Friday.

That is a hell of an idea.

I'll second that. Great idea for next year.

FWIW, I'm not a fan the idea of FAAB running on a weeknight. I use weekend time to prep my FAAB bids, and wouldn't be able to devote as much time to doing that during the workweek. I'm guessing I'm probably not alone on that. Also, we had a week's worth of baseball games/news leading up to last night's FAAB, so there was plenty to react to/bid on. Why change it?

So fine you can do all your work and make your bids on Sunday night - you would still have the option to review them later in the week if you wished. BUT many of us would get a break from the routine on a Sunday and be able to spend some time with our families or pursuing other interests and have several days to find the time that works for us to make our FAAB bids.

This change hurts no one and benefits many in our game
