Congrats To All 2015 NFBC Main Event Winners

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Oct 09, 2015 9:48 am

Let's give it up for everyone who earned an NFBC Main Event league title in 2015 because we know how tough it is to win one of these titles in a 15-team league. Kudos to everyone who came through in 2015.

This is the 12th year of the NFBC Main Event and each year the competition gets tougher. It's not easy to win one of these league titles. To win an NFBC Main Event league title in our very tough 15-team league format you have to draft well, constantly pick up the right free agents and make the right lineup decisions. It wasn't easy this year, that's for sure.

Congrats again to all of our league champions this year. Here's a few quick facts and then a list of our league champs:

** Richard Van Fleet was the only owner to win multiple league titles, winning Las Vegas League 5 on March 28 and Online April 4 League 2. He drafted from the 15th spot in both leagues.

** Chad Schroeder won the $75,000 bonus by winning the overall titles in the NFBC Primetime and the Rotowire Online Championship. He obviously had the only shot at the $75,000 bonus in the Main Event-Primetime, having finished 1st in the Primetime. Chad won a Main Event league title Online March 28th, but that team finished 36th overall.

** Out of our 30 leagues, five champions came from the No. 3 spot to lead the way. Nos. 2 and 5 were next with four league champions each.

** 13 of the 15 draft spots produced league champions this year. Only Nos. 7 and 13 failed to produce league champions in 2015.

** 18 of the Top 30 league champions came from the Top 5 spots. Six league champs came from 6-10 and six league champs came from 11-15.

** Five league champions started their teams with Andrew McCutchen, the top player on the most league championship teams. Four league champions started their teams with Mike Trout, with one owner getting him with the second pick. Paul Goldschmidt was also on the teams of four league champions.

Here's a look at the league champions followed by the list of league champions and their draft spots. Congrats all:

As an owner who drafted one main event team from the 15 slot, 3RR would be a welcome addition to even out draft slots fairness. It looks like league champion data HEAVILY supports that as well

Congrats to all of our champions in the 2015 NFBC Primetime, with Chad Schroeder winning the $80,000 grand prize. Chad had a historic season as he won over $300,000 in 2015, including the $75,000 cash bonus for winning the NFBC Primetime and Online Championship overall titles. Just AMAZING Chad.

Chad won 7 of the 16 Primetime Leagues he entered and finished 2nd in two other leagues. Michael O'Brien also won multiple Primetime titles, winning both leagues he entered. We also had six first-time Primetime league champions.

This is the 6th year of the NFBC 12-team format. We've tinkered with this format through the years and will likely tinker with it again in 2016. It's a great, great format, but not an easy one to win at.

Congrats again to all of our league champions this year. Here's a few quick facts and then a list of our league champs:

** Chad Schroeder won the $75,000 bonus by winning the overall titles in the NFBC Primetime and the Rotowire Online Championship. He tied for first place in one league, but the winning margins in his six other Primetime leagues was almost 13 points. He drafted from the 6th or 7th spot in six of those leagues and from the 9th spot in the other league.

** Out of our 17 leagues (with one tie), seven of the champions came from the 7th spot. Only two teams came from the Top 4 spots. The breakdowns were: two league champs from No.s 1-4; nine league champs from 5-8; six league champs from 9-12.

** 8 of the 12 draft spots produced league champions this year. The four spots that didn't produce champions were Nos. 3, 4, 8 and 10.

** Five league champions started their teams with Paul Goldschmidt. Mike Trout was on only one league championship team.

Here's a look at the league champions followed by the list of league champions and their draft spots. Congrats all:

You are more than welcome to lead that discussion, but please do it on another thread. Also, please use all data from years past. They can be found in October at the end of each season as we posted results each year. Thanks.
