Direct Deposit Forms Are Due Oct. 15

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Oct 07, 2015 8:08 am

We're happy to report that STATS will have Direct Deposits available to all 2015 NFBC winners this year, but you must act quickly to get payments this way. Please contact Tom at [email protected] for the Direct Deposit form needed to get paid directly to your Savings or Checking Account. This is the fastest, safest, most convenient way to get paid by the NFBC.

We will need those forms by Thursday, Oct. 15th to ensure Direct Deposit, so let's move quickly. Thanks all and good luck.

Shared Prize Forms must be sent to Tom and notarized by Monday, Oct. 12th. Let's get busy everyone. We are trying to make payments as efficient and as timely as possible, but we need your help as well. Thanks and enjoy the money you earned. Oh, and save a little of it for 2016 NFBC!! :D

We haven't posted an update on prizes recently, so let's do it here:

Accounting is working through all shared prize forms and Direct Deposit forms now and have said payments will go out before the end of this month, just like in past years. We should have a more definitive date this week, but in the next week or so. Those receiving by Direct Deposit will obviously get them in a faster fashion and MANY of you went the Direct Deposit route. Good job.

Congrats to all the winners and look for prize money soon.

Greg,
Any further update as to when those of us who filled out direct deposit forms can expect to get paid?
Thanks in advance.

We did not get prizes out this week unfortunately. We have been told by end of this month, which hopefully means next week. With Direct Deposit, you'll see the prizes that day. Thanks all and we are paying over $2.84 million this year, a record year for NFBC prizes. Can't wait to get them to you all.

Any additional updates, tomorrow is 10/28, which is near the end of the month;

We have always gotten baseball prizes out by the end of October and hopefully we can still do that this year. Admittedly, we are a week behind past years because of an internal project, but hopefully through the direct deposits we can make up that time to most of you. I will have a more definitive answer tomorrow from Accounting and hope to get the prize money in your hands very shortly. Sorry for the short delay, but prize checks and deposits will be going out very soon.

It's frustrating that nearly four weeks after the season ended, there is neither a firm date that payments will be sent, or any meaningful explanation why the NFBC can't say when the payments will be sent, other than an "internal project" was scheduled that put them a week behind.

This is clearly a venting post, but I'd like to keep it somewhat positive with respect to Greg and Tom. So I'm shooting for logical humor here, rather than say outright bitching:

I'm guessing that your contestants are 99% male. Of that 99%, I'm guessing a lot of those guys are married. Of those who are married, I am guessing 100% have to make some explanation to their wives every spring why thousands (or tens of thousands) of dollars are being spent on a game that said wives, maybe, tepidly understand.

When the NFBC posts after the season that payments will go out in 2-3 weeks and then they don't, a good number of those contestants who are married are probably asked EVERY morning that direct deposits don't show up, when is the prize money coming.

So, if it has become frustrating to be asked about prize money constantly by your customers, take solace that you don't have to wake up next to us.

The season ends October 2 next year, with October 3 & 4 reserved as potential tie-breaker days. I vote we schedule no internal projects in the 2-3 weeks following the contest ending next year.

Love ya, mean it. And thanks for a great contest.

Knuckleheads, of all the venting posts we've ever had on the NFBC boards that was the most polite, level-headed vent EVER!! ;) And I'm not saying that to butter you up. We feel what you're saying and apologize again. Nicely done.

Ideally checks would have gone out last Friday, which is less than three weeks after the completion of the season. That's the timeline we've hit in the past. Like I said we are a week behind because of an audit that had to be completed by Wednesday, but with Direct Deposits to most of you we'll try to make up the time lag and get these winnings in your hands soon. We promise.

I think "accounting" might need more man power with the NFBC continuing to grow with record payouts.

Thanks Greg. You guys have always been on top of payments and I am looking forward to getting mine soon. Do you have any idea when the insurance company you use issues payments to those of us who paid in cash and were "lucky" enough to insure the right guy? I know that is out of your control, but maybe you have some insight into how they operate.

Thanks again. Hoping you have to send me some football money too. Sadly I did not insure Jamal Charles. What was I thinking when I said Cobb?????

Pete
OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

Everything is being worked on now and you'll see prize checks and Direct Deposits in the next week. We'll post a better update shortly, but we're working hard on this now. Thanks for your patience all.

Pete, the insurance company usually takes a little longer to get those checks out, but they are always very thorough on that. I actually sent Henry a list of the players I thought qualified as being out 60+ games and he was going to double-check that. I trust I'll be hearing from him soon. Usually they have those 6-8 weeks or so after the regular season is done.

Congrats on the "win" there. Yeah, sorry about Jamaal Charles. Brutal injuries in football this year.

Good luck the rest of the way and good luck to the Mets and Royals fans this weekend.

Insurance checks take a lot longer; last year I didn't get mine until after the first of the year. In fact, aafter I got it I forgot who I insured or had it coming. It was a nice little surprise.

More frustrating, and I know it isn't Greg or Tom's fault, the issue of getting timely money out. Another game I played, I got payed within 7 days and a reason I will never stop playing that game although I spend 10x more money in NFBC. I would never use the name Every League Luny there. LOL

I have to say that i am a little disappointed with all the delays in getting prize money sent out  We keep on getting new dates for money to be sent out but these dates keep getting pushed back later and later. I am usually a very patient guy but as the famous quote from the movie Jerry Maguire goes "Show me the money!" Sorry for the outburst but cash is a little tight right now and this money would come in handy right now.
