Scott Newman Has Passed Away

Post by Tom Kessenich » Wed Nov 04, 2015 12:30 pm

Jack Haan just posted on the NFFC message boards that Scott Newman has passed away. NFBC veterans will know of Scott who was one of the finest fantasy players around and more importantly was a truly wonderful person. He was a mainstay in New York for the NFBC and NFFC events. This is truly terrible news.

Here's a link to Jack's post on the NFFC boards:

RIP Scott. Always great conversations with him in NYC. Nicest guy. So sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Will always remember "the practical guy"

Horrible news. Super nice guy, always with a smile always a joy to talk to. What a loss for his whole family and especially Lexi, truly the apple of his eye and probably knew more about the players than he did! Very sorry to hear this.

Shocked to read this tonight. Prayers for his daughters who often accompanied him to drafts in NYC

Always a pleasure to talk to Scott at the drafts and we shared many friends with/from the Dodgers

RIP Practical Guy

Ditto on what everyone said- super funny guy, kept things relaxed and fun, and had such positive energy. And we all witnessed his kids growing up at the events. Very sad news. :(

I posted my respects for Scott and his family on the football boards, but just wanted to re-iterate the type of guy Scott was and with the amount of tension going on right now in another thread, maybe this will put things into perspective. A good humble guy who made a lot of us smile and admire, is gone. And he will be missed.

Will see you again, my friend, but not yet..... not yet.

I haven't checked these boards since the end of September…now I wish I didn't. Just terrible news. Selfishly it was easier not knowing this. I really feel for Scott's family. Just a great guy, excellent to compete with, funny, and a caring father…what a loss. RIP Practical Guy.
