hi guys - one thing i have in common with everybody posting in this thread is that i've also never won overall anything.

i hope everybody worried about anon keeps not winning, and that everybody playing as anon keeps not winning, and that both camps keep circle jerking each other off to about not winning. pretty neat. best of luck!

You do not have the right to remain silent. Any player you draft or talk about can and will be used against you in future leagues.

I think these experts worrying about the drafting public stealing their proprietary strategy and players should go with the Greg Brady strategy.

You know, the fake playbook plan left for the other team.

Fake us minions all out...

I thought people use these draft champion leagues to learn the pool for the expensive drafts. You mean all the anonymous players know now who they will pick in April and don't want to give up that information. Isn't who they pick in January and February almost worthless information. I picked Corey Seager in round four of a draft in January and I regret it already.

I was thinking the same thing. I also love how some people will draft in 20 DC's, picking pretty much every player at some point, yet are worried that someone might pick up on a "strategy"! lol

Wish I could have been anonymous last night in the draft. So people didn't know the idiot drafting lol. My computer died after rd 12 so I had to finish on my phone and if you have ever tried that with a 55 second draft clock that is actually 30 once your device catches up you know searching through thew players is a nightmare. My team is a Hot Mess! So long story short don't forget to grab you computer cord in these Cutline drafts and if you do hope you registered as Anonymous!

Sure, I will gladly answer this one. The fault lies with US on this. No other pay-to-play fantasy site lists every name of every entry in every contest like we do. We started doing this during our first season of 2004 to show transparency of actual signups when other contests would boast about signups and then inevitably fall short of those numbers. So we chose to do this for transparency and to allow folks to put a name with the participants in their leagues.

We didn't ask for permission to do this, we just did it. And now we've kept the tradition going in all of our leagues. That's our fault, if you will.

In the Draft Champions Leagues, we feel like it's important to know who you are competing against, both good and bad. In the past folks used fake names to hide their draft picks and strategies in these online leagues and we allowed it. We understood that if someone saw a top NFBC player in a DC that they may want to join that league just to see which players he was going after. That's all fine and good, but some of the top players didn't want that and they wanted to join multiple leagues. So we agreed that if anyone wanted to hide their identity they had to be listed as Anonymous and yes after Feb. 15th (closer to the live drafts) there would be no more Anonymous.

That ruling has worked fine. In fact, we have only 1 person using Anonymous this year and it's for personal reasons. He's really not hiding his picks from NFBC folks, but rather it's more personal reasons. There are some owners who work at big companies and don't want their bosses to Google their names in a high-stakes fantasy baseball contest, so I certainly understand that. Some folks have a partner for these drafts and use their partner's name, which is even better.

But I will say that this year we have had fewer requests for this than ever before. Again, it's one person and that's it.

We don't have any Anonymous listings for any other event than the Draft Champions League. And if you see Anonymous and want out of that league you can email me directly and I'll delete your entry. That has always been part of the agreement as well.

Again, this is on US -- the NFBC -- for listing every name of every signup. We could easily eliminate that, but I think people like to see full transparency for all of the leagues. And right now we're protecting one person with this. I don't see this being a problem, but certainly each year we should explain this. It's unfair to assume that everyone knows what we're doing.

Hope that helps. Good luck all.

Come on Tom. Some "anonymous" and "fake" names live in the states that are banned from playing in the NFBC. It's common and just as low as the vanity expressed by some "anonymous" individuals.

We have thousands of people who play in our contests so it would be impossible to know for sure if everyone signing up is using their real name or not. That's why I said "that we are aware of." Many people who are in a banned state have partners who do not reside in a banned state and that's the primary owner listed when they sign up. But again, that's a partnership and like Greg said that isn't uncommon.

I don't understand. He's a first-year owner with two Draft Champions teams started in the last week.

Let me share some moments from the chat:

I just looked up Matt Deutsch. He is going to crush me...There is no doubt in my mind he will finish first. We should all bow down to him. Give him all the good players.

According to Scott White of CBS, I heard power is the way to go in the first two rounds. How come there are 3 pitchers taken already?

The natutral will take 8 hours to autopick again. He is working on his show right now.

According to CBS, we should be drafting power. Instead everyone is drafting pitchers so I had to draft a pitcher.

I may not be able to make my pick my bed time is coming up soon...I go to bed around 8.

Scott White of cbssports said always start a run and not chase.

According to Heath Cummings at cbsports starting pitchers are extremely important in nfbc format.

According to Eric carabell of ESPN, line ups do matter. Ballparks do matter.

This is but a small sample. Someone that knows Matt Deutsch in my opinion. If it's all legit I apologize.

another beauty (in round 11)

2 picks away from being on the clock at 4pm...

I sure hope I can get my pick wrapped up before my bedtime. According to some of you folks, I should not be auto picking at this stage.

Seriously come on...

How can u say there's no aliases that you're aware of? In the DC I m currently in 3 of the owners on the owners list page are "papa's nine" "mr happy pants" and "the fan addict" . These are not the team names these are the owners "names". I don't think there's anyone in there trying to truly hide their identity but it's clear that aliases are allowed.

some of the stuff today is superb...

i fully accept that he is a first time nfbc player as you say but he is a savvy veteran from somewhere playing everyone. It's quite amusing to be fair.
