Re: FAAB- April 24
Needed a bit more power and Steve Pearce looks like he's an every day player for now with multi eligibility ($13) and Robert Stephenson ($3) could be a steal - has to be back up for Simon before long.
Re: FAAB- April 24
Dan I took a flyer on Jon Gray if I did my math correctly 2 road starts week 5 at SD and at SF. I got Ben Paulsen, Pedro Alvarez looks lost I can't afford the BA hit.

Scored Cingrani (I guess good?) in auction championship and bought low on Austin Jackson as OF depth.

I'm on the "potential' Closer merry-go-round.
This week I was after Caleb Cotham - CIN
One team I was outbid $77 -33
The other team I was the "winner" $32-24

I bid $52 on Smoak...with no runnerup bid.
Perfectly ok with it.
I had thoughts that I may be the only one 'on' him in my league, but really wanted him the rest of the year just in case.
Numerish would tell us good power and low average. Smoak is getting along in baseball age. This is a year that could literally mean millions for him.
30 years old, when free agent season starts for clubs.
He'll be a free agent, in the middle of a good lineup, where he's suddenly the everyday player.
Seemed like a good plunge. Time will tell.

Dan - smoak will be splitting time, likely as early as this week.

Re: FAAB- April 24
guys i liked this week:
Homer Bailey - Should be back in bigs in two weeks. reportedly hitting 94-95 (with high of 97) in his first rehab start
Jon Gray - Increased velocity and 10K vs Dodgers in Coors in first start of year.

Picked up a Snell where he was still available. Paid 333 for it, 109 more than second up. All good as I think its rounding up my pitching staff. Got a couple of Bailey and Stephenson as well. Got Freese and Mercer where offense needed a little 4 days boost.
Go ahead, make my day...
Re: FAAB- April 24
that was quick. Dan get him out of the lineup if you haven't seenGekko wrote:Dan - smoak will be splitting time, likely as early as this week.

Nothing 'quick' about it, but he is out of my lineup for this time frame.Gekko wrote:that was quick. Dan get him out of the lineup if you haven't seenGekko wrote:Dan - smoak will be splitting time, likely as early as this week.
Bench, then Sale is not a good combo.....
