All 2016 NFBC Payments Going Out Via Checks

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Oct 10, 2016 10:29 am

CONGRATULATIONS to all of our 2016 NFBC winners. It was a fantastic baseball season and everyone who won prize money this season should be proud of their accomplishments. It's not easy winning money in the NFBC.

Now comes the most important part to our participants: Getting prize money. Counting this baseball season, we have given away more than $34 million in prize money and our goal is to do it quickly once again. Unfortunately, we have a few items we must get out in front of this year so that there isn't as much confusion as we had last year.

Okay, here are the points about payment this year:

Every prize winner will receive payments via check. We are not doing Direct Deposits this year and there are no Player Accounts to keep your prize money in. We are paying out all prize money in full via checks this year.

Everyone MUST have their W9 Online file updated with current address. Just click on any team page and pull down to W9 Online, update the information and Save it. All checks will be sent to the address on your W9 Online file.

Every year we try to get prize money out as quickly as possible and this year is no exception. However, like last year, the company is in the middle of an audit that is due on Oct. 28th and we've been told that like last year it could push our payments into the first week of November. It's possible that Accounting will be able to get checks out despite the audit, but this year we are getting out in front of this and letting everyone know that it's possible that payments will go out in early November rather than late October as we'd all like. I'll update as we know more, but this year we have been informed about this early and we are relaying the news early. The prize money is definitely coming and we are preparing everything now for Accounting, but if we are a week behind in payments this year this is why.

That being said, there is a plan in place starting with 2017 baseball to change the way we distribute prize money. I know we've said that many times before, but trust me on this one. More news on that to come, but using ewallets and allowing you to use prize money for future transactions is the goal and it's in the works. It's part of a few changes we hope to announce by the start of the baseball season as we embark on our 14th season.

Again, we understand that you put your trust in us to get paid in full and to get paid in a timely fashion. Right now nothing is more important than getting you all paid and we understand that. STATS will do this via checks and hopefully no later than the first week of November. And then after that, hopefully we'll be able to move forward with ewallets starting in 2017. Thanks all and congrats to all of our prize winners.
