The Main Thread To Sponsor NFBC Apparel Store

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Feb 16, 2007 10:05 am

Okay, if there is one area that I have NOT done a good job in during the last four years, it's in adding NFBC apparel for our members. I just haven't had the time to do this and we haven't promoted the NFBC Store well enough on the web site. That's about to change now.

We are going to partner with an NFBC member to provide apparel before, during and after Draft Day this year. Rick Gromek has moved from California to Belfast, Maine and he has opened a new apparel shop called The Main Thread. He is going to create NFBC hats, T-shirts, polo shirts, jerseys and satin jackets for us. He is also going to provide our NFBC league winners of the main event, Ultimate Leagues and auction leagues with a special prize at the end of the season, courtesy of The Main Thread.

Here's what The Main Thread will provide:

1. Each NFBC main event, auction league and Ultimate League Champion will receive (1) Badger Colorblocked Baseball Jersey w/ NFBC logo on the left chest and "League Champion" and City and League # embroidered under the logo.

2. The NFBC's Overall Winner will receive (1) Satin Baseball Jacket w/NFBC logo on the left chest and "2007 Champion" embroidered under the logo.

Those prizes are being sponsored by The Main Thread.

We're still working on the prices, but here's a tentative list:

Baseball caps-- $18

Visors-- $ 8

T-shirts(white) $12

Polos $35

Baseball Jersey $38

Satin Baseball Jacket $55

Rick can also embroider past NFBC champions if you're interested in ordering a shirt and having "2004 Champion, Las Vegas 1" on it. Any personalized touches that you would like we can accommodate.

I will be bringing shirts and hats to sell in Las Vegas and Rick will set up a table in New York. If you want to order items beforehand, just contact me at [email protected] or leave a message on this thread and I'll make sure Rick gets it. We can bring the finished items with us to any of the locations. We'll have samples in Chicago and Tampa as well and can take orders at those locations as well.

We thank Rick for the offer to honor our league champions as the money is nice, but the winning baseball jersey might have even more long-term value. It's another great addition we're making to our customers and we thank Rick for joining our team in this way. Great stuff.

Enjoy and we'll have color photos of the items soon and a link to Rick's new web store as soon as it's finished. Stay tuned.

Well I think Greg covered it pretty good. Just let me add that you can also contact me at [email protected] or call the phone number below if you have any questions regarding any of the apparel.

We do not have a running web site yet but are hopeful to have one before football season. If you want any pictures of any items, I can send them.

And I do carry womens tank tops, just find us the model. Maybe she could model during the draft at the tables of the league I am in. :D I could always use any help I can get.

3 step process to finding a model:

- go to the Flamingo's topless show the night before

- find a showgirl who has a spare hour the next day for a small modeling fee and/or all the free vodka she can drink

- set up a "fitting committee" to help her out with getting into the right size tee and thong (Greg, I am available for committee duty)

Rick Hi,

Glad to have you doing the materials. I would STRONGLY suggest taking the weeknd and setting up a Yahoo, eBay, or Amazon 'shop'. It takes less than an hour and make it much easier for everyone to see what they are purchasing (and saves you $ from sending pictures!). I am interested for example in the Tshirts, assuming the design is pretty conservative.

Regards,

Chris

I do have an ebay account, will be setting up store on that also, but sometime down the road. I will see what I can do about getting something where everyone can see the products.

As for the design, it's the NFBC shield logo you see in the upper left corner of this page. Very simple design. As soon as I can get something up in regard to a web page and get some product embroidered, I will post and let you know. Greg and I just finalized this a few hours ago.

Okay, just a quick update on our NFBC apparel that we'll have in every city. We'll have some merchandise available for sale in Las Vegas and New York, and we'll have a sample of each product in Chicago and Tampa. You can buy the items in the first two cities and order them in Chicago and Tampa and we'll deliver them to you via mail.

I will tell ya that I really like the items that Rick Gromek and the Maine Thread have designed for us. The NFBC baseball jerseys are pretty cool and the pull-overs are sharp, too. We have baseball caps for $18, T-shirts for $12 and fleeces for $30. Nice stuff if you're interested in wearing the home colors this weekend!!!

Anyway, check 'em out and take some items home if you'd like.

There was a black MVPSportsbook t-shirt? I have the green one for last year's NFBC, and the blue one for the 2005 NFFC. I also have a black hat from them, but no black T.

Unless you're confusing the black t-shirt with the black MobileESPN t-shirt...

Just to clarify prices, (Greg misquoted the fleece),

Here they are:

T-shirt $12.00

Polo Shirt $30.00

Baseball Jersey $38.00

Caps $18.00

Fleece $43.00

Satin Jacket $55.00

Windshirt $40.00

Sports Bag $24.00

Also had a request for long sleeve t-shirts, so I will have some available in New York, but they can be ordered also for $15.00

Any questions, email [email protected]

Or see me in New York this weekend, we will be set up on Saturday all day and again on Sunday.
