7th Annual $1,000 Draft Champions League: Feb. 21st
Max Ogden started the NFBC $1,000 Draft Champions League seven years ago and this league has been a real treat for everyone who has participated in it since 2011. Max is too busy with work and family right now to organize this league again, so he's asked us to take the reins and reach out to everyone in this league from last year. No problem Max and we'll carry on the tradition for you.
Here's the details of this league:
Entry Fee: $1,000
Format: 8 Hours Per Pick, 50 Rounds, Draft Champions (but expect a faster pace than normal DCs)
Prizes: League Prizes Are: 1st = $8,000, 2nd = $3,000, 3rd = $1,000
Overall Prizes: Owners are also competing for NFBC Draft Champions National Championship Prizes as this contest is part of the overall contest
Start Date: Tuesday, Feb. 21st, 1 pm ET
We have given owners from last year first dibs on spots in this league in the past, so look for an email from me to these 15 owners shortly. But you need to act fast because we want to fill this league shortly so that everyone can plan accordingly. If there's demand for a second league in late February we'll start one up. Sound good?
Okay, who's ready to compete?
1. Greg Doyle & Barry Ercoles - 6th Year - (2014 CHAMPS)
2. Andy Robinson - 1st Year
2. Jason Magoon - 2nd Year
4. Patrick Gallagher - 3rd Year
5. Marc Perlmutter - 5th Year
6. Charlie Licari - 1st Year
7. Jim Jeckewicz - 3rd Year (2015 CHAMP)
8. Gaetan Lavoie - 6th Year
9. Christopher Cosley - 3rd Year
10. Mike Massotto - 6th Year - (2011 CHAMP)
10. Matt Anderson - 6th Year - (2013 CHAMP)
12. Jon Stadtmueller - 4th Year
13. Jason Magoon - 3rd Year
14. Ralph DiMeo - 3rd Year
15. Max Ogden - FOUNDER
Congrats to Andy Robinson, who won this league title last year with 122.5 points. Andy finished 37th out of 2,910 teams in the NFBC DC National Championship. Mike Massotto finished 2nd in this league and Gaetan Lavoie finished third. Kudos to all of you.
Okay, if you want to retain your spot in this $1,000 league and can start drafting on Feb. 21st just let me know. We'll secure your spot and get everyone signed up later on. Tom and I will need to set this league up separately to have it start in mid-February, so don't sign up online yet. Just email me at [email protected]. Thanks all and good luck.

The Mules will be taking a year off. I plan to reduce my number of high dollar teams this season and the DC format isn't my best anyway. I'm fully comfortable with regarding 2015 as a fluke. I will miss the competition of this league, though. Good luck, everybody.
Re: 7th Annual $1,000 Draft Champions League: Feb. 21st
In. Other than having to deal with Massotto's impatient ass & Gatean going to bed after dinner killing any late night drafting runs, it's one of my favorite drafts of the year. Looking forward to it.

Okay, we have more than 15 owners who want to compete in the first $1,000 Draft Champions League of the season. We did fill two of these last year, so let's get this league finalized and work on the next one with those who don't get in. We will finalize this league shortly, but be ready to start drafting two weeks from now. Here's the current signup list:cfolson wrote:Did I make the cut?

Re: 7th Annual $1,000 Draft Champions League: Feb. 21st
Okay, we have a full league for the 7th Annual Max Ogden $1,000 Draft Champions League. I know this group likes its picks in advance and in the past we did it a week before Draft Day. So let's put the KDS deadline for this league as Tuesday, Feb. 14th at 8 am ET. Remember, this league starts on Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 1 pm ET.
Good luck all and thanks for filling this league. Here's the lineup card for this league:

If there is demand for a second $1,000 league we will create one. We did run two of these last year and we already have a few folks on the list above. That one could start in early March. Thanks all.

Looks to be a solid group! Looking forward to this one as always. For those of you who are new to this event, since inception, it has been the league consensus going in that Max's now memorial 1K is one of the faster variety DC's. Not a super fast DC like the ones I put up on the boards, but the expectation going in is that we will average a minimum of 8 rounds or per day. We usually end up surpassing this number, but this is the base number to be prepared for. I will be doing the facilitating, so sometime before we start, there are at least three of you as far as I can tell right now that I will need cell numbers from for text purposes only. I'll message you guys as we get close. Good luck to all, and prepare for your usual ass-kicking at my expense.
