That is FAABN- Far Above Actual Bid Needed.
This occurs when we think a lot more of a player than 14 others.
Sometimes resulting in bidding only against ourself....
Three minutes before the deadline-" I better raise my bid 10 more dollars, I really want this guy."
One minute before the deadline-"I'd hate to lose this guy over a couple of dollars, raise it five more."
When the results come in, we find out that even our original bid far exceeded all other bids.
I don't mind FAABN. It's a little like real baseball in beating a team 20-2, knowing we can't use those runs in the next game.
And like real baseball, the losses we take the hardest are when we get beat by one.
