Anthony Rizzo at 2B
Anthony Rizzo at 2B
Due to his positioning on possible bunt plays, he has officially played 2B in 5 games this season, according to the info on MLB.com. He is now eligible at 2B in CBS leagues that use a 5 game minimum. At this pace, he will qualify in NFBC leagues at the end of July. It could be quite an advantage for his owners.
Re: Anthony Rizzo at 2B
He will then be the Cubs' version of Ryan Schimpf.

Surely the NFBC won't fall victim to this kind of silly shit!

Re: Anthony Rizzo at 2B
I don't agree that MLB should give him games played at second base because of the shift (yeah, I know, he changes from his first baseman's glove to a regular glove; so what?), but we use Games Played according to MLB and we aren't going to change from that criteria. It would be like saying I don't agree with an official scorer's ruling and so we won't allow the extra HR and 3 RBIs. I can't do that, either.red mule wrote:Surely the NFBC won't fall victim to this kind of silly shit!
So if Rizzo gets 10 games played at second base according to Major League Baseball, he will then qualify at 2B. I don't think anyone drafted him for this reason, but it's another change I guess we all have to deal with thanks to these defensive shifts.

Huge advantage for Rizzo owners. Not much else to say.
OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

Speaking of power hitting MI, congrats to the 7.1% of people who had Skippy Gennett activated yesterday. Well played by the Reds Twitter department, too.

I was watching the Angels game on TV back in 1980 when 5'4", 35 year old Freddie Patek launched three of his 41 career homers over the Green Monster one afternoon, which had to be at least as unlikely as Slappy's four tater explosion yesterday.

So far I haven't heard any reports that John Lackey has demanded a PED test on Gennett. I guess it's only guys (like Thames) who light him up who are on the juice.Yah Mule wrote:Speaking of power hitting MI, congrats to the 7.1% of people who had Skippy Gennett activated yesterday. Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
