We have completed eight days of games...
There has not been a day when all 30 MLB teams have played...
And it won't happen today....
Every team has a Win. Every team has a loss...
Saving us from media speculation into how good or how bad any given team is...
The last home opener will be the Cubs on Monday...
Ian Happ leads baseball in striking out (14)...
His saving grace being that most fans don't remember strike outs, but do remember what he did with the first pitch of the year....
Giancarlo Stanton has struck out in almost half of his at bats...
At the end of the year, times struck out fades and the smaller number like '59' is remembered....
Did you draft Tim Anderson?
He leads baseball with four stolen bases...
He is the only player in baseball with multiple homers and multiple stolen bases...
'On pace' folks can take it from there....
Paul Goldschmidt has a measly double for an extra base hit...
So does Manny Machado...
The press could use the humidor as an excuse for Goldy...
Sorry Manny....
By the way, you and I have as many RBI as Manny...
Sorry again, Manny...
Freddie Freeman has nine RBI and nine Runs in six games...
That, with Nick Markakis batting behind him
What happens to Freddie's numbers if Ronald Acuna is the hitter most think he is...And bats fourth?
Freddie's numbers go Bang! Zoom! To the Moon, Alice!....
Rougned Odor is hitting below .200 and has no extra base hits...
He is also 0-2 in trying to steal...
Boxing is always an alternative career choice....
There have been 98 Major League games played...
Of the 196 pitchers who have started their games, only 21 were allowed the 100 pitch mark...
90 pitches is the new 100 pitches this year....
Yesterday, with most pitchers throwing for the second time, no pitcher was allowed to throw over 100 pitches...
The average pitches thrown by a starting pitcher yesterday was 86 pitches...
Only one pitcher (Jose Berrios) has thrown nine innings...
Only five other pitchers have thrown eight innings....
The average start now, between five and six innings....
Just a few years ago, A 'Quality Start' scoffed at for being 'only' six innings...
Carlos Martinez was 'allowed' to throw 114 pitches to garner a shutout...
He had to be pulled and did not get the shutout.
His 114 pitches is the high water mark for pitches thrown this year however....
Max Scherzer has thrown 100 pitches in both Starts...
HERE is the benefit of Starters going less innings for fantasy players
In 18 per cent of all games so far, the Starter has given up zero earned runs...
AJ Cole has the stinker of the year
Cole gave up 10 earned runs in his start....
Chris Davis was used as the lead off hitter for Baltimore
Now, what is it that a lead off man is supposed to do?... If knowing, tell Mr. Davis, willya?
Chris Davis has not scored a run this season....
Buster Posey has no RBI this year...
Bryan Holaday has as many at bats as Jorge Alfaro...
Yep, Bryan Holaday...
How many fantasy players will be cussing Gabe Kapler's existence by the end of this year?....
Whit Merrifield has not struck out
He is the only every day player that has not....
No 1B has hit more than two homers?.....
Miguel Andujar went for some large bids in FAAB
Gold or pirite?....
And yes, I realize the small sample sizes.....

Re: Stuff
the cubs will play- and the stands will be packed. all broadcasters east of the mississippi should be required to say " tickets bought" instead of "fans in attendance" when talking about yankee games- we can see the empty seats- all 15 thousand of them.
