Updated NFBC Records: 2004-2018

We now have 15 full seasons in the books for our five national championships in the NFBC. We keep track of the top teams in each of the 10 statistical categories for each season and compare them to other seasons. These aren't the top 15 overall teams in each statistical category for the NFBC Main Event; instead they are the leaders in each statistical category for each of the 15 seasons. And so it goes for the other contests as well.

This is a great way to compare the trends throughout the years. For instance, in several of our contests this year we set a new record in Home Runs and Runs. We also saw the lowest number of Stolen Bases and Saves this past year in many of the national contests. Two years ago, we saw pitching records across the board and this year the power numbers stand out.

Interesting lists. However, Greg, I think you need to go back and check some of these record lists for accuracy. Even a cursory scan of a few of my Main Event leagues from this year indicates that a few competitors including myself on several occasions should now be appearing on these lists. I know for a fact that I set at least a couple of strikeout records, potentially a WHIP and ERA record, and also a couple of home run records which would be listing me in these standings. Not that any of these matter that much in the grand scheme of things, but as long as you're tracking and keeping these records for us, they should be as accurate as possible and given props to all who deserve them.

It's interesting to note that all four national contests set a new low in Batting Average. In fact, in the Main Event lowest totals were registered in Batting Average, Stolen Bases and Saves. In the Rotowire Online Championship, low totals were registered in Batting Average, Stolen Bases and Wins. In the NFBC Auction Championship, new lows were set in Batting Average and Wins.
