MTM News & The Premiere of the "Godfather Games" in NJ for 2025!
So, this is a long one but a good one, so stick with me. With the MLB regular season hopefully coming to an end today and with it the end of the 2024 NFBC season as well, what better time to begin to unleash what I have been working on behind the scenes conniving, cajoling, and coercing Greg and Geoff about to make happen to improve this amazing little obsession of ours for this awesome brotherhood that is the NFBC!
There are many exciting things in store for 2025 which I'll go into in much greater detail as everything continues coalesce, but the most immediate thing to be aware of is that I pushed to get the 2025 draft room opened ASAP and we should be good to go by Thursday of this week. I'll have a link up for anyone interested in a 150 DC and I believe they're working on incorporating the only full 50 rd. DC that has been completed to date (the MTM Wax Early Psycho Draft) into the player pool and making an ADP out of it, but we'll see what the Tech Monkeys can do. Positional eligibility definitely won't be updated yet though until after the World Series, but at least we'll have a draft room and hopefully an updated player pool reflecting an ADP based on this DC. Anyone who wants in for this draft, let me know. We will kick it off with a two-hour largely ignored clock by this coming weekend.
Additionally, the other big news is that the Godfather Games are a go for New Jersey!!! There will be no less than FOUR live events over the March 14th and 15th weekend prior to Vegas. Two auctions, a Main Event, and the MTM Ultimate of course. Greg is footing the bill for all of this including the big MTM Saturday night after party tentatively scheduled to be back at the MTM "Estate". He said he'll make the trip in for this weekend himself if we fill the events, so I'm making this happen. It's first come first served for the auctions and the Main Event, and the MTM Ultimate is returning owners with right of first refusal getting first crack at it as always. I'll be recruiting and setting up the sign up for all these events early which are sure to sell out, so start making your plans to be here in scenic South Central, NJ. There will again be live event coverage for the 14th Annual MTM Ultimate by RotoWire with the professional color and analysis team of Toby Guevin and Scott Jenstad which was followed by a record shattering 7000 live viewers last year! You're not going to want to miss being a part of these awesome and historic two days of live events done up in MTM style!
And I'll tease this, too: Sunday, March 16th will Mark the premiere of not one, but TWO livestream pods of all the Vegas Main event league formations, so no more "randomizer" and behind the scenes shuffling etc. Followed by a live KDS show that same evening! A lot of details and logistics to be handled and worked out but it's all going to be an absolute blast!
All just the tip of the iceberg...and here's one more cool thing: The NFBC MTM Vegas Party will be returning to the Bellagio and back in the suites this year!
Okay, this is plenty for now. You guys get the idea. Much more to come! Kudos to both Greg and Geoff for being willing to think out of the box and be open to new and exciting innovative ideas to make the best season-long fantasy baseball competion even better! Keep an eye out for more details here and feel free to post any questions or contributions, PM, or text me.

Re: MTM News & The Premiere of the "Godfather Games" in NJ for 2025!
Okay, I can not tell a lie: I let MTM call these the "Godfather Games."
Honestly, I'd love a return to the East Coast for the NFBC. We've never fully left the East Coast because Mike hosted the NFBC Ultimate League in New Jersey last year and even in 2021 we held an NFBC Ultimate League draft in David Einhorn's Manhattan office.
But we haven't fully been there since 2022 and finding a suitable Manhattan venue after losing the Stewart Hotel in 2020 has been nearly impossible. Dave & Busters didn't work out like we had hoped and after what they pulled on us this August for the NFFC we likely will never return there. Hosting the NFBC in Manhattan going forward just doesn't seem suitable or doable.
So Mike's idea of hosting some live events in New Jersey piqued my interest. We once had 5 NFBC Auction Championship leagues in New York City and I'd love to host at least 2 auction leagues there again in 2025 or we'll have to lower the grand prize for that contest. The $30,000 grand prize is based on 12 full leagues and last year without New York City we were fortunate to get 8 live Las Vegas auction leagues and 3 Online $1500 Auction Championship leagues. But that's still not where we want to be.
So I looked last week for area hotels in New Jersey that would be doable for those of you from New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and Mike's choice from last year turned out to be the best one. The Hampton Inn & Suites has one 900-square foot ballroom and I'm going to bring my own 100-inch screen in this year to make it work. They don't cater food there, but they are allowing us to bring in our own food and drink as long as we clean up the room when we're done. We're men, we know how to do this!!! PAR-TEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
So here's my thought and we'll see if there's interest in this or not:
Friday, March 14th, 10 am - $1500 Auction Championship League
Friday, March 14th, 4 pm - $2500 Auction Championship League
Saturday, March 15th, 11 am - Main Event League (just 1)
Saturday, March 15th - 5 or 6 pm - MTM Ultimate League
Here's the location:
Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Robbinsville
153 West Manor Way Robbinsville NJ, 08691
Phone 609.259.0300 Fax 609.259.0304
We have a room block here for $139 for a King room or $149 for two Queens. We'll cater in the food for each event and I'll have drinks throughout. We'll find a nearby bar for Friday night and MTM will cook up something special for the Ultimate guys on Saturday night.
Listen, if it doesn't work out it wasn't for a lack of trying. I'm willing to come to the East Coast for 3 days to make this work and to keep the live events rolling. It's not an elaborate spot or glamorous spot, but if we can get a couple of auction leagues going, one special Main and the Ultimate live it's worth a shot. Maybe it leads to something bigger next year or maybe we fall flat on our faces. But I'm willing to give it a try with the hope that the Godfather Games brings out the best competitors on the East Coast.
It's going to take some work and some effort to get there for all of us, but let's see what happens. Anyone interested? Let me know and when we launch the new site we'll have some options for you. I'd love to get it done if you can make it happen. Thanks all and thanks Mike.

Re: MTM News & The Premiere of the "Godfather Games" in NJ for 2025!
So here's the deal on the launch of the NFBC draft room for 2025: If you want to draft on our site as part of the NFBC Draft Champions National Championship we can start those on Saturday once we launch the NFBC Post-Season Contest. Like Mike said, we can take signups probably around Thursday or at least start a signup thread now and then get everyone signed up in time to draft on Saturday if we have a full league.
Now we will be using the 2024 draft room with the player default list as it was at the end of last year. Eligibility will show 2024, but if you have any questions on player eligibility just ask or look it up on their player pages. If you're not sure on a minor-leaguer, email me or Tom or Geoff and we'll quickly look it up. All of the players will be there, but they won't be in any order pertaining to 2025.
We can host 2025 DCs this way throughout October and we'll then launch the 2025 NFBC site a few days after the World Series ends and the Post-Season winners have been paid. We will then turn over the site, so screen grab all the 2024 draft boards, FAAB results, etc. you want before we roll over the new site.
The new draft room then will have new player rankings and new position eligibility. But it would be great to have a start on the season before then and the new player default list will update with ADPs once we have 5 finished DC leagues. And then off we go!!!
As for the Las Vegas Main Event Saturday league assignment shows, we can talk about that later. We still have some ideas for how we'll do that and yes a randomizer will still be used to randomly put players in leagues. This time you'll just see it in real-time. But we still have some work to do on all that before officially announcing. I think it can work out well as we are again shooting for 8 leagues and 120 teams for that Saturday morning.
Okay, good luck in the final day of the 2024 NFBC season and get into the Post-Season Contest if you can. The World Series is wide open this year and stacking the right teams this year could lead to a $20,000 payday. Enjoy and good luck all.

So the commitments are already coming in fast and furious for the "Godfather Games" and ALL the live events are going to sell out in NJ! I want these events filled by January 1st, so I'll be starting a separate registration thread for them all shortly. In the meantime, keep reaching out to me personally or post to this thread on your interest leves and for what events. It's going to be KILLER boys & girls!

Re: MTM News & The Premiere of the "Godfather Games" in NJ for 2025!
I will be starting early registration for all the live events of the Godfather Games by this weekend. No one needs to officially sign up for anything yet, but I will be posting all the leagues on this thread and updating them as people reach out to me who want in. There's currently a waiting list for the MTM Ultimate, so don't ask. All returning owners have right of first refusal as always. All the other events are wide open to everyone on a first come, first served basis, so if you want in for these, you better act quickly to reserve your league spots!
As Greg stated earlier, there will be two live auctions on Friday, March 14th, and a Main Event (perhaps two!) on Saturday, with all the festivities culminating in the Grand Finale of the MTM Ultimate Saturday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. All the details on everything including the HUGE after party Saturday night tentativley scheduled again at the MTM "Estate" as I pull it all together. So who's coming to sunny and scenic NJ in March? Looking forward to seeing all of you there for all these events done up in classic MTM style!

Mike and Greg. I'm almost certain I can get down for the Godfather Games (love that name) and enter both of the auctions on Friday March 14.
I'm already mapping out Robbinsville from Ottawa, Canada. Should be a blast. ( from Al Holmes )

This is AWESOME, Al! However, the big question to consider now is do I really want you in my house.
