Re: 2025 Position Eligiblity
Thanks Michael. This is always very helpful. Here's their position designations in the NFBC for 2025:mdecav wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 4:55 pmGreg - here are the players you'll need to determine position eligibility:

Jair Camargo: Catcher
Garrett Cooper: 1B
Jose Devers: 2B (played mainly SS in the minors)
Tristan Gray: 3B
Marco Luciano: SS
Cole Tucker: DH (most played in the minors)
We'll have Minor League Games Played for all minor-leaguers who didn't reach the majors this year and will double check them right away before we launch the draft room. We should have that much better as well. Thanks all.

Re: 2025 Position Eligiblity
Kristian Campbell played 36 games at both 2B and SS in the minors this season. Where does he qualify for 2025?
Re: 2025 Position Eligiblity
Separate question. If a player hasn't debuted in the majors yet but played the MOST (but not all) games in the minors this year at DH, is he utility for 2025 or if he played the field, do we take the position he played at most?

2B. He played 15 games at 2B the year before and 0 at SS.

Re: 2025 Position Eligiblity
I want to give a big shoutout to Phil Dussault and anyone else who helped us with the 2024 minor-league games played list. We have updated every player who just played in the minor leagues last season and everyone should be correct per our position eligibility rules.
This has been more of a manual process during the first 21 years of the NFBC, so getting some help to automate this process for those minor-leaguers is a good thing. Our NFBC players are always smarter than we are, so figuring this out is a big relief. Thanks guys.
If you see any minor-leaguer that you question the position eligibility we have assigned now, please contact Geoff or any of us. We'll manually look it up and correct if needed, but I'm confident our list is solid. The new draft room will have all of these players listed correctly now. Thanks again.

Re: 2025 Position Eligiblity
We are confident that we have all of the minor-leaguers' position eligibility correct thanks to the help we got from some of our members this off-season. However, if somehow we have a player incorrectly listed right now, we are adding language to the rules to address that.
Basically, NOBODY will lose position eligibility going forward. What we have listed for every player in the draft room is what that player will have for eligibility in 2025 going forward. We're that confident in our listings. But if somehow there was an error and we found that a player actually qualified at a different position, we would add that position and not take away the previous position. We obviously want to get every player's position of eligibility correct for the season, but we also can't change the way they are being drafted now. Hope that clarifies things going forward.
Also, in the past if a veteran missed a full season to injury we reverted back to that player's position of eligibility from his last played MLB season. In two previous seasons, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Gavin Lux had multi-position eligibility restored once they returned and that appears to be the case this year with Matt McLain. We incorrectly gave him just one position heading into 2025 when he actually had 2B and SS eligibility when he last played in 2023. Again, we will add more specific wording in the rules to make sure we stay consistent with our ruling on this situation going forward.
Sorry for any confusion and we'll tighten up the language in the rules to reflect these situations going forward.
