Nick Cole & Jody Boyd Win 2024 NFBC Diamond Challenge Titles

Nick Cole of Lascassas, Tennessee won the 2024 NFBC Diamond Challenge Roto Championship and the $30,000 grand prize, but he did even better than that. He also had the third place team to win another $5,500 prize. This is Nick's first Diamond Challenge overall title as this contest goes all the way back to 1993.

Nick had only two Diamond Challenge Roto entries and he obviously won both of his league titles and those $1,700 league prizes. He finished with 132 points with his championship team and his third place team did even better with 144.5 league points. Great job Nick.

Cole, 39, first joined the NFBC in 2011 and has played in the Diamond Challenge contest the last several years. He had two Top 100 Roto and two Top 100 Points teams last year, but this is his first overall title in this format. He had two Diamond Challenge Points teams this year as well and both finished in the Top 50.

Elliot Kite finished second, 37 points behind Cole, whose third place team was 8.5 points out of second. Rounding out the Top 5 were Patrick Gagne and Michael Western.

We finished with a total of 510 teams in the Roto Championship -- up one league from 2023 -- and we paid the Top 3 teams in each 15-team league and we paid the Top 14 overall. Here's the final 2024 NFBC Diamond Challenge Roto standings:

The Diamond Challenge goes all the way back to 1993 when CDM Fantasy Sports started this national championship. It has a great history as one of the premiere contests in the industry and Nick Cole now joins a select list of Roto champions. Jody Boyd of Mansfield, Ohio won the 2024 NFBC Diamond Challenge Points Championship and the $15,000 grand prize, his first Diamond Challenge overall title. Boyd, 48, is a veteran of the Diamond Challenge contests and earning this first overall title was something he's wanted for a long time.

Jody had five Diamond Challenge Points teams this year and he won four league titles, finishing 1st overall, 6th, 35th and 77th. He won four different $1,100 league prizes, bringing his winnings to $19,400 in this contest from those five teams. He also had two Diamond Challenge Roto teams and finished 2nd in his league in one of those, while also finishing 44th overall. Well done Jody.

Jody finished just 13 points ahead of Brian Paschen for the overall title, while Aaron Jonees finished third overall. Quintan Kocher rounded out the Top 5 with the fourth and fifth place teams.

We had a total of 360 teams in the Diamond Challenge Points Championship this year -- down one league from 2023 -- and will return in 2024 with the Roto and Points Championships. Here's a look at the final Points standings from 2024:

Robert Heinz of Waupun, Wisconsin won the 2024 NFBC Diamond Challenge Roto 2nd Season Championship and that $5,000 grand prize. Robert had only one entry and he turned that into the $1,100 league prize and the $5,000 grand prize.

Robert finished 99.5 points ahead of Chris Metz for the title with Theran Berceau finishing third overall. Rounding out the Top 5 were Metz and Doug Reed. This was the second straight year that Chris Metz finished second overall in this Second Chance Contest.

We finished with 11 leagues and 165 teams for this contest -- up one league from last year -- and paid the Top 10 overall and the Top 3 in each league. Here's the final standings:
