Shawn Johnson Wins 2024 NFBC Diamond Auction & $75,000

NFBC Hall of Famer Shawn Johnson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina won the 2024 NFBC Diamond Auction League and the $75,000 league prize in convincing fashion. Shawn basically led from start to finish and rarely if ever fell below 130 points, finishing with a winning total of 134 points. He won this high-dollar private league by 26 points, which is insane.

But what's even more insane is that Shawn has now won the Diamond Auction League six of the last eight years!!! He's won this title every year since 2106 every year except 2017 and 2023. We haven't seen a dominating performance in any of our high-stakes contests -- baseball, football or basketball -- like this one. Great job Shawn and congrats once again.

Shawn had one helluva year after quite possibly his worse season of 2023. He was inducted into the NFBC Hall of Fame and had a rough season after that, but he more than made up for it this year, winning not only the Diamond Auction League title but also a 15-Team Super League title. He also joined the debut Champions League Qualifier and won his only Main Event league that he entered and his only Rotowire Online Championship league that he entered. He finished second in his only $150 Draft Champions League that he competed in, obviously earning a spot in the debut CLQ Championship Auction League next March in Las Vegas. Amazing job.

Matt Shepherd finished second in the Diamond Auction League to win $35,000, while Jason Duponte finished third to win $20,000. The Diamond leagues pay the Top 4 finishers and Michael O'Brien finished fourth in this one to earn $10,000.

Cost of entry for the Diamond Auction League was $10,000.

Shawn built his team around Shohei Ohtani at $34, Adley Rutschman at $19, Josh Naylor at $10, Logan Gilbert at $23 and Garret Crochet at $1. I'll list his full auction results shortly.

This was another great season for the NFBC Diamond Auction League and we'll return in 2025 at Park MGM in Las Vegas on Sunday, March 23rd at 10 am PT. Plan accordingly and we'll see you there.
